Dallas Cast at War – Veterans Battle New Cast Members Since Larry Hagman’s Death

I guess the writing was kind of on the wall for this to happen. I’m talking about trouble on the set for the rebooted TNT version of Dallas. When the show first came back it set out to blend veteran characters that long time fans will remember, with a batch of fresh new faces to help draw in a younger audience as well. That seemed to be working just fine while Larry Hagman was alive.

According to the July 22nd print edition of Star, when the 81-year old actor passed away in November of 2012 the cast initially carried on without incident. They were all still in shock and found comfort with each other while getting over the initial grief. Now that time has passed things are changing quickly.

As it turns out Larry was the peace maker on set. He was the one who went out of his way to make the new cast members feel welcome while other vets like Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray could have cared less. Without him onset to ease tensions and keep egos in check Dallas producers are worrying about a future all out war.

The cast has quit acting like they are all on the same side and now the egos are starting to come onto the set along with the cast. There is some fear that the cast themselves will unravel the hit show just by the way that they’re acting. Producers aren’t sure how to keep their ducks in a row. They need some of the original cast for the show to feel authentic but the new blood is what makes it appealing to 20-year old fans as well. No one wants to start axing cast members and even if they were to do that the producers have no idea where to start because they don’t feel like they can afford to lose anyone.

Are you a fan of the rebooted Dallas? Are you seeing any hint of back stage ego beginning to pop up on camera? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
