RECAP:

The show begins with Miranda waking up in bed. Her mother stands beside her. Miranda asks if she’s in Heaven. Her mother says that this is where she’s supposed to be. Next, her father walks in and asks if she wants chocolate chip pancakes. Miranda says she feels so normal here and that she never wants to leave. Her mother says, “That’s because you’re home.” Miranda looks in her closet, filled with clothes, and a small girl named Max walks out. Miranda’s father says that Max doesn’t talk and that they’re taking care of her — somehow she ended up in this “world.”

Caleb wakes up in bed; he seems to have been dreaming about Miranda in this other world.

Caleb tells Luke, Olivia, and Remy that Miranda isn’t safe in that world, even though she thinks she is. Caleb says that Max wants to hurt Miranda. Remy is still pissed at Luke after he kissed Tess, Liv’s ex-BFF. They all look at old photographs. There’s a flashback involving Old Miranda and Old Caleb, wherein we see that they harbor a profound love for each other. In the secret box of photographs, Caleb identifies a picture that depicts the room where he saw Miranda.

Raymond texts Caleb, and they all agree to meet up later.

Liv questions her brother, Luke, about why Remy is so mad at him. He doesn’t tell her that he kissed Tess. Liv confesses that she’s been avoiding Dillon, her boyfriend, because she’s trying to protect him.

Remy gets a strange email that has her distraught — we’re not sure what it says yet.

Back at Raymond’s place, Raymond shows Caleb a new body and tells him, “I’m sorry for your loss.” The body is Caleb’s uncle, the one that gave him the mysterious key last episode. Raymond says he’s seen this kind of death before: he was scared to death.

Grunwald comes in with some lunch for Caleb. Caleb says that she doesn’t have to pamper him like this, but she says that she likes taking care of people. Caleb shows Grunwald the picture of the room he saw Miranda in. He asks if she recognizes it; she says no, that she does not . . . . She begins to walk out, but before she does, she says, “You’re looking for Miranda, aren’t you? You should think about the what she wanted most, what she was looking for.” Caleb thinks it must be her family. Grunwald says that they might have her parents’ address in their records, and she agrees to get it for him. She continues to act freaking creepy and like SHE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS. But she refuses to give anything up.

Dillon comes over to see Liv. He says that he misses her. She shares his feelings. Dillon says that maybe he could help out with their situation, and together they begin looking through the secret box.

Luke tries to make up with Remy, but as he does he gets a text from Tess.

Caleb drives to the address Grunwald gave him. He arrives at the address, only to see an empty lot with a picket fence.

Grunwald says to Raymond: “Caleb is looking for Miranda. You NEED to do it tonight.”

Caleb talks with Hannah. He tells her that he loves her.

Dillon finds out that maybe this mysterious parchment might actually be a blueprint, not a map.

Meanwhile, Caleb plans a trip home to see Hannah. How much you wanna bet he won’t EVER GET BACK MWUAHAHAHA!

As Caleb sleeps, the windows mysteriously lock. Caleb dreams and somehow finds Miranda. He warns her that this place isn’t real and that she needs to leave now. Caleb shows her the way out, but Miranda won’t follow him. Max comes in being super creepy.

Caleb wakes up from the dream.

Meanwhile, Raymond proceeds to dig up Miranda’s grave, perhaps doing that secret thing Grunwald advised him to do.

The gang meets up. Remy slept walk to a basement area, and she feels as if someone or something led her there for a reason. They finally realize that they’re standing in the basement depicted on the parchment they found — that blueprint. They discover a secret room. They uncover a hidden passage way blocked by a brick wall.

Raymond is furiously digging up Miranda’s grave. Grunwald shows up. “You have to hurry,” she says. Quickly, Raymond cuts a bit of Miranda’s hair — for his magical cupboard maybe. Just as Raymond does this, we see Caleb uncover two skeletons.

One of the skeletons is holding a bunch of photos. Remy looks through them. Liv finds a note meant for Original Caleb. Remy also finds a ring, and she says it’s identical to the ring they found in Henry’s box.

They realize that these “letter” are actually wedding vows and that they died in a shipping accident, alongside three of their other friends. Luke finds some more stuff about the curse and seems to think that these two skeletons sacrificed their lives in an effort to somehow bring Miranda and Caleb back to life to reverse the curse. Remy believes that, perhaps, their sacrifice worked. Because New Caleb is alive and well. She says she doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that Miranda and Caleb look exactly like their historical counterparts. Caleb, however, doesn’t think they’re “The Chosen Ones.”

They find another picture of a creepy old house. They go investigate it because Live immediately recognizes it as that “old creepy house they used to run by when they were kids.”

They check out the house. There’s no sign of people, but there’s a grandfather clock that’s still ticking. The lights begin flashing. The candles spontaneously light. Caleb calls out for Miranda. Max appears. “She didn’t bring you hear. I did.” They ask if Miranda’s here. Max says she’s waiting for them in hell. Oh, geez, girl. Way to be subtle.

Max disappears and begins singing “Ring Around the Rosie.” They all go looking for this mysterious ghost girl. Somehow, they find a room with Miranda. Everyone sees her. They all say that they need to leave now. Max is holding Miranda prisoner. Caleb urges her to see past Max’s lies and to follow him instead. Miranda’s mother comes in, urging her to follow her. But Miranda soon sees passed Max’s brainwashing. The house begins to fall apart.

They leave through the secret door behind the closet — the one he found in his dream. As the house is falling apart, a board hits Caleb. He falls out of the house. For a moment, he unites with Miranda. He’s dead. But she says there might be time for him to go back.

He wakes up in the hospital. Miranda is onlooking.

Raymond writes on Miranda’s hair jar. Grunwald comes in and tells Raymond, “They’re still alive.”

Dillon is there to support Liv;  he goes out to get some coffee but, as he does, he sees Max in a red coat walk passed him. Of course, he goes to follow her because he’s just so goddamn curious. He finds her in a dark room. He says to her, “After all we did to get them into that house. He’s going to be very unhappy.” Max responds, “Their connection was stronger than I thought.”

GAH So much evil and deception!
