It looks like those high hopes that Simon Cowell had for bringing The X Factor to US audiences hasn’t quite been realized. Sure the show is in its’ third season but that doesn’t mean that it’s doing well. In fact the current installment which features Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio judging beside Simon is pulling the worst ratings ever. The X Factor is currently the lowest rated contest on television and in order for there to be any hope of it returning for another season major changes must happen.
According to the Dec. 2nd print edition of GLOBE Magazine first on the chopping block is actually Simon himself. While he will remain on board as an executive producer, this will be Simon’s last season as a judge as he commands a $95 million price tag that is just way too steep for the failing show to continue paying. The only thing bigger than Simon’s paycheck is his ego so learning that he will be a casualty is likely not sitting well. There is also a rumor that while he will continue on as a producer his actual involvement might be less because with both hands in the pot, the show has floundered and it needs a new direction.
