Three young girls giggle as a kite flies overhead. It’s the snow queen and her two sisters as children! The kite gets lodged in a tree and Gerta takes the ribbon but the others sisters argue over it. The man who was flying the kite comes through the trees and Gerta hands it to him. He says he sees a much bigger prize and snatches the two youngest intending to kidnap them.

Ingrid panics when he throws her back and throws an ice spell. The branch breaks and it falls, killing the man. Ingrid freaks and says she can’t be queen with a power this terrible. Her sisters promise to help her and tell her she’s not a monster. Ingrid shares the pretty ribbons and says as long as they each have the ribbon, they will be there for each other and will ever be alone.

Now, Sarah (aka Ingrid), enters the clock tower and walks up the stairs. She conjures up her dark magic mirror. Over the credits, we see the kite of the kidnapper. Regina is in her crypt working when Robin shows up. She reminds him he needs to be focusing on loving his wife but he says his heart brought him to her. She tells him talk of his heart tortures her.

He says he can’t fall in love with Marian with her in his life and Regina says that’s why he can’t be in her life. She tells him to forget her and walks out. Emma shows Elsa a spell that Belle found – it’s in Elvish and it should work on Ingrid. It’s an ancient spell that should wipe out the snow queen’s powers. Elsa says people look at you differently when you have magic.

They try the spell and it flops. Elsa says they’ll try it again later. Emma leaves to go be with her mom. Mary is at a mommy and me class when Emma shows up. Emma is there to pick up her baby brother and Emma says he sure has a lot of stuff. Emma is interested to see that Ashley is leading the group. Turns out she’s quite the baby whisperer.

She refers to Mary as a first time mom and Mary rushes to make sure Emma’s feelings aren’t hurt. Emma says she gets that she’s getting to do all the milestones this time. Emma is holding her brother’s bottle and it’s bubbling and glowing. She apologizes and says she must still be revved up from her practice session. Mary holds back her baby like she doesn’t trust Emma with him.

David calls and tells Emma there’s a frozen trail up in the clock tower and she says she’ll be right there. Emma and Elsa rush there and work the spell. It produces cuffs on Sarah who says – you got me. That seems way too easy. Back in the past, Gerta and Helga are getting ready for their dad’s birthday party, but Ingrid refuses to go to the party. They ask how long she’ll hide and she says as long as she’s afflicted.

They don’t see her that way and remind her she’ll be the future queen and can’t hide forever. Helga has a suitor coming and Ingrid says she doesn’t want to to ruin her big night. She insists her younger sisters go without her. Helga introduces her dad to the Duke, her sweetie. He asks how he likes Arendelle and the Duke is flustered and then asks Helga to dance. Her dad says it always starts with a dance.

They join the other dancers as a tune starts up. Ingrid sneaks into the hall nearby to peek in. She looks so sad and then snowflakes fall around her. She walks away from the party. Now, Elsa demands to know where Anna is and Sarah reminds her that Anna put her in the urn. Elsa refuses to hear that and Emma tells Elsa to back off and not let Sarah manipulate her.

Emma sends Elsa to help David and Hook try and dismantle the mirror. Sarah tells Emma she’s very proud of her and Emma says she has no interest in being her superhero sister. Sarah tells her she was a lovely child and Emma says she’s not her friend. Sarah says she’s not her friend, she’s family. Sarah says at the end of the day, she’ll let her go no matter what she thinks now.

She asks Emma what she wants to talk about. Regina looks at Henry’s book and stories of happily ever after and true loves kisses. Henry comes in and asks for help with his tie. She asks why he’s dressed up and he says he’s getting married then says he’s kidding and he’s working at his grandpa’s shop but it required to wear a tie. She ties it for him and he asks why she had her scary face on and if it’s about Robin Hood.

She says she had to let it go and is moving on but the next time a happy ending knocks on her door, she’s going to jump on it. He tells her he’s looking for clues about the author at the shop. Emma tells her the spell of shattered sight is a pretty big deal. Emma asks why she wants she and Elsa to be her new sisters and why she’s been stalking Emma.

Emma asks why she erased her memories of her as her foster child. Sarah says the family she thinks she has may love her, but they also fear her. Sarah asks if they ever wince at her power but Emma insists they love her for who she is despite her powers. Back in the day, we see Ingrid packing when her sisters come in from the party. They ask why she’s leaving and what happened.

Ingrid says she went to the party and saw them laughing and dancing. She tells Helga she’s not meant for these things and that once she’s gone they will have the normal lives they deserve. She tells Helga that she’s the queen Arendelle deserves. Ingrid says she can’t control it and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Gerta says she’s heard of a sorcerer who might be able to help control her powers.

Gerta says the man’s name is Rumpelstiltskin and he lives in Mist Haven. Now, Hook, David and Elsa look at the mirror when Belle comes in and tells them not to look in it. She tells them it’s not the same mirror and wonder why she’d plant a fake mirror. David says she wanted to get caught. At the jail, Sarah freezes the exterior doors shut so David and the others can’t get inside.

Robin plays a frustrated game of darts at Granny’s when Will comes in then turns to leave but a dart lands by his ear. He tells Robin he can explain. Robin orders them drinks. Robin reminds him he almost got he and the other Merry Men killed and then asks Will where the women he risked their lives for is now. He has no answer for that but says he has to live with his choice.

Robin says he stole Marian’s father’s horse and that’s how he met her. He says he didn’t even need the horse and then woke to her pointing a bow at his head. He says he brought her two more horses the next day because she told him they were poor farmers. Robin says she made him the man he is today and he needs to remember that now.

Will says Marian told him that Robin had good in him and that when you look hard, you see the good in people. He says she also told him when there is true love, you fight for it. Robin asks if he believes that and Will says he does, even if you have to ruin your life for it. At the shop, Henry finishes sweeping the floors and then asks to learn some magic.

Gold says he’s going to give him a potion that turns old things new – furniture polish. He sends him in the back to clean and tells him not touch anything magical. Belle and the others rush in begging Gold to help them get into the sheriff’s station since Sarah froze them out. He says he’ll help and they go out to wait. Hook stays behind and asks why this villain isn’t after him and asks if he has a history with Sarah. Gold tells him that’s his business.

Back in the day, Ingrid and her sisters go to see Rumple and he offers to teach her how to use her magic but she says she wants it gone. He says she doesn’t need him. She asks what he means and he says the true love of sisterhood is a great magic. He tells her love is free but all magic comes at a price. He conjures up some gloves that he says will block and conceal her powers if she has faith.

He also has the urn that he offers as a fail safe. He says if she gets too chilly, to pop the top and her powers will flow into it. Ingrid reaches for the items but he says they have to pay a price. He asks for the three yellow ribbons they wear. He says ordinary magic that is loved can be very powerful. The girls don’t want to give them up but Ingrid insists and they all hand them over.

Now, Sarah tells Emma that when she was her foster child, she had a lot of anger about the abandoning her. Sarah tells her that her parents gave her up instead of finding another solution and that they are using her still as the salvation. Sarah says she’s more a tool than their daughter. She tells Emma that they probably thank their lucky stars every day that their new baby is normal.

Sarah says when people don’t understand things, they fear it. Emma gets really mad and ice pours from her and explodes a wall out of the jail. Emma asks what she’s done to her and Sarah says she freed her to be who she really is and tells her she’s beautiful. Emma tells her to make it stop, but Sarah disappears in a conjured puff of ice and snow, her cuffs magically gone.

Emma steps out through the hole she created and looks at in horror. The others show up and Gold says she didn’t need his help. Emma tells them all to stay back and says she did this. They beg to help her but she throws her arms out when they try to touch her and electricity spikes, lights blow and a street light falls, nearly killing her dad. Mary is there and says Emma’s name very harshly.

Emma looks like her heart is breaking and then Mary relents and tells her it will be all right but she runs off. Sarah watches from behind a nearby building with a small smile of glee. Back in Arendelle, Ingrid sits holding the gloves and the urn when the Duke approaches her. She says he must be there for Helga then says she’ll get her but he stops her.

The Duke says he’s heard stories of her beauty and has been intrigued by them. He goes to kiss her and says Helga will never know. He says he wants her not Helga since she’ll be queen. He presses her and she throws him back with magic and says this has to be their secret. Helga is there and asks what’s going on. He says Ingrid kissed him and when he rebuffed her, she used her magic on him.

Helga thanks him for letting her know what a liar and creep he is. She says she loves her sister and he calls Ingrid a freak and says he’ll tell the people of Arendelle and the people will lock her up when they find out what a monster she is. He makes a move and Ingrid tries to stop him but she inadvertently freezes her sister. She turns to ice then crumbles to chilled dust while Ingrid cries in horror.

Now, Regina studies the fairy tale book when Robin comes into her crypt. She asks why he’s there. He says he’s lived by a code his entire life. Steal from the rich, give to the poor and be truthful and good. He says he’s tried to live by it every day. She asks why he’s there and he says today is not one of those days. He kisses her passionately.

Mary puts her new son to sleep when David and the others come in. They tell her they can’t find Emma which means she doesn’t want to be found. Elsa tells them she’s been through this and says her family showed her they were scared of her. Mary says they failed Emma today by showing fear of their daughter’s powers. She says they don’t need the Snow Queen’s bad mirror, they’re destroying themselves.

Emma sits in her car thinking and sad. Sarah stares at her true wicked mirror in her lair. Back in Arendelle, Gerta rushes up and asks where Helga is and what she’s done. She gets mad at her sister and tells her to stay away from her. Ingrid begs her not to leave her and says they promised to be together. She begs Gerta to help her and holds out her hand saying she’s all she has left.

Gerta says – you killed our sister, you’re a monster. Gerta looks at the urn and grabs it and holds it open to Ingrid who melts into water and flows into the urn. Gerta slams the lid on and cries now that she’s the only sister left. She picks up the magic gloves and keeps them. She then goes to see the rock trolls and tells him she lost both her sisters today. She says they have to see that Arendelle survives this.

She asks him to give her a memory potion for the whole realm to forget that Ingrid and Helga ever existed. He says he can do this but says the truth has a way to come out one way or the other. She begs him and he agrees. He tells her it’s strong magic that comes with a price. She agrees. Now, Gold looks at a snow globe when Sarah comes in. He says he’s created many monsters in his time and she’s done a good job with Emma.

She tells him she’s ready to make a deal and wants her ribbons back. He says he doesn’t think she has anything he wants. She says he needs to free himself from the dagger and tells him she learned many things when she had the hat. She says she’ll tell him the missing piece if he returns her ribbons. She says she knows his plan and says she knows he won’t be content with just Storybrooke.

She says she knows he wants to free himself of the dagger’s power so he can leave Storybrooke with his powers. She says he wants what all villains want. He shows her the case with the ribbons. She says he wants everything and she’ll give it to him. He asks what makes her so generous and she says what he wants is out there but everything she wants is in there and freezes the globe.

Sarah says he can have the rest of the world as long as she can have Storybrooke. They agree it’s a deal and Gold tells her – you first. She leans over and whispers in his ear. He says he can do that but will do it with great pleasure.

THE END!
