Is Taylor Swift jealous of Kendrick Lamar’s success? The 2015 Grammy Awards nominations are in – and as expected both Taylor Swift and The Weeknd walked away with 7 nominations a piece. But, the real story, which raised a few eyebrows is rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Lamar is running the show this year and leading in nominations with a whopping 11 – that’s 4 more than reigning Grammy Queen Taylor Swift!
Kendrick Lamar not only got more nominations than Taylor Swift, but he beat out Eminem’s previous record for most Grammy nominations in one year. There is no doubt that Kendrick Lamar is deserving of the nominations, his album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ was released over 6 months ago – and is still making waves and generating buzz.
But, word among Taylor’s circle is that Swift was shocked when the Grammy nominations list came out – and her pal Kendrick Lamar left her in the dust.
We all know how Taylor Swift is, her friends are supposed to be successful in every aspect … just not more successful than her. Taylor has always publicly endorsed Kendrick Lamar, and it’s no secret that Kendrick and Taylor are pals on and off the stage. But, T-Swift is rumored to be feeling a certain type of way about Lamar receiving more Grammy nominations than she did.
An insider close to Taylor’s circle dished to CDL, “It’s not that Taylor isn’t happy for Kendrick or doesn’t think that he deserved the honor. It’s just that after her world tour and the success of her last album – she thought that she and Kendrick would be neck and neck. She will definitely congratulate him, but she is a little bummed.”
