The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Adam Alive, Rescued or Escaped Before Blast – Chloe’s Wrench Links To Cabin Explosion

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the large metal wrench Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) revealed appears to confirm that she caused the cabin explosion last September 2016. But did Chloe allow Adam (Justin Hartley) to die in that blast, or ensure his safety before she blew the structure to Hades?

Last go-round Adam allowed everyone to believe that he’d died in the fiery car crash that seemingly killed Gabriel Bingham (also Hartley, though he was never seen in that role) and injured Billy (then played by David Tom). That traumatic event led to the reintroduction of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) namesake.

Killing her nemesis was something Chloe threatened to do on one occasion and tried to do on another. But the gun (with bullets) she pulled at Chancellor Park didn’t lead to anything other than angst for all involved. Her later attempt to run Adam down, after he left the Genoa City Courthouse, was intended as a death blow – Chloe having donned a disguise during that crime.

Via Victor’s goading, Chloe masked her appearance once again a year later. She’d secretly returned from a stay at a mental health treatment facility to help The Moustache frame Adam for the murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). The ruse turned disastrous as Chloe refused to relinquish evidence that would have cleared Adam before he was sent to prison.

Adam’s subsequent escape was aided by his father, who planned to send his son, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) out of the country via a prop plane. Adam was hiding from the authorities at a cabin waiting for Nick (Joshua Morrow), Chelsea and Connor to arrive when Chloe stunningly arrived.

The Young and the Restless reminds viewers they had only been shown Chloe’s gun and darts until this week, when she revealed her wrench. It was stored, along with the gun and a spare dart in a shoe box under the bed in Khloe’s bedroom.

Whether Chloe intended to fake Adam’s death, or she believes him to be dead sustains the possibility that this character will be written back into the frame. The Young and the Restless fans have rightfully been clamoring for answers to this open-ended storyline since summer, 2016. Many won’t be satisfied if all they receive is a Chloe appetizer.

The details of Chloe’s actions are helping to answer questions about Hendrickson’s character. While that’s good, the meat and potatoes (or fish, or vegetables for discerning viewers) would best be served by Adam’s revival. It’s possible, as is almost anything in the soap world.
