A man comes out of a store and is shot by a woman after she calls his name and tells him this is for Ella.
Chunk teases Marissa about all the healthy food in the office kitchen. Benny sees Cable’s mug and gets sad. Danni comes in and talks about the woman who shot the man in the street the day before. Chunk heard about it. The man had raped the woman’s daughter. Who could blame her? They all get into a dispute about the case. Bull calls Marissa into the office. His phone isn’t working and when did he get jury duty? She explains that he has been gone so people stopped calling. Marissa has something for him though.
Bull meets with the woman who shot the man in the street. She is in jail. It was her daughter’s piano teacher. He got off. So she bought a gun and waited for him and shot him. She didn’t flee after shooting him 3 times. She didn’t care she just wanted to make sure he was no longer alive.At court, Benny and Bull talk to the mother. They are going to try and get her out on bail. Bull has to run to a different courtroom for jury duty. He hopes to get sent home but he is selected. He tries to talk to the judge but she doesn’t care.
Danni goes to meet the daughter of the woman on trial. Danni wants to bring her to the city to the trial. The girl doesn’t want to go. The man was her piano teacher too and the night he killed her sister he locked her in a closet so she would be quiet after he crawled through their window.Bull meets with their client Heather and preps her for trial. They are heading to the jury selection. When she finds out Bull won’t be there she panics. Bull talks her down.
In his jury duty, Bull asks so many questions he helps to further the case along so that closing arguments will be held the next day. That night, Bull and the team talk about Heather’s very angry demeanor. Bull also wants to bring the daughter on the stand. Danni gets upset. The girl is a cutter who is fragile and her mother also forbids her. They tell Bull to talk Heather into it in the morning.
Bull meets with Heather in the morning. He demands she change her attitude or they will lose and he wants her daughter on the stand. She doesn’t budge. Bull runs to his jury duty and drops a tip to the man who is defending himself in the elevator. The man tells him to stop talking, but Bull pretends he didn’t say a thing.
At Bull’s jury duty case, the man defends himself and how he loves the law. He points out that everyone is the law. He apologizes for what he has done, helping people for little money.
Bull runs back to the office. The man won his case and Benny is having back issues. Benny explains his bad day in court. They talk. They both think Heather did wrong but shouldn’t be punished. Bull thinks they need to go in there and run a defense theory. They could show how Heather shot the man to protect her other daughter.
Bull goes to meet Heather’s daughter. He wants to talk to her about testifying. The next day in court, Benny is still having trouble with the prosecutor. On recess, Bull brings Heather to see her other daughter who tells her mom she is going to take the stand.
On the stand, Penny details how her sister’s rapist and killer was caught. She thought they were all safe and then he got out of jail. That was when their lives stopped again for months. Penny got depressed and told her mother she was going to kill herself. Her mother let her start going out again her and there until she ran into her sister’s killer at the local store. None of the jurors turn. They remain red.
Two Weeks Later
Bull comes in to the office and he swears he hears Cable say hi to him. He looks to see her empty chair. Meanwhile, Danni is at Cable’s. The super wants to go to the memorial. Danni gets a call.
The jury is deadlocked. The ADA decides to drop the charges. Bull and the team have won. Bull heads back to the office and sees Cable’s mother there to pick up her things. He has a hard time so he heads to his office and calls Marissa to send someone to help her.
