Dancing With the Stars Juniors Recap 11/18/18: Season 1 Episode 6 “Giving Thanks”

Tonight on ABC Dancing With The Stars Junior airs with an all-new Sunday, November 18, 2018 episode and we have your Dancing With The Stars Junior recap below. On tonight’s DWTS Juniors Season 1 episode 6 called, “Giving Thanks,” as per the ABC synopsis, “Thanksgiving nears, the six remaining celebrity kids each dedicate a dance to those who have inspired and had an impact on their lives. 

Each couple will perform a jazz, salsa, samba or foxtrot. At the end of the night, there will be an elimination. The studio audience vote is combined with the judges’ scores to determine who goes home at the end of each episode.

Ariana Greenblatt and Artyon Celestine (mentored by Brandon Armstrong) – Salsa – “Pintame” by Elvis Crespo

Judges Comments: Mandy: “I know this is all about giving thanks and I am grateful for that salsa. I love that it was very complex, good job.” Adam: “Ariana just like Mandy I am so grateful and so thankful, I have one question for Artyon, can your life me next?” Val: “That salsa was spicy, it was earthy with a lot of flavors. I am really proud of you and I am sure Puerto Rico is as well.”

Judges Scores: Val 9, Mandy 9, Adam 9 = 27/30

Mandla Morris and Brightyn Brems (mentored by Cheryl Burke) – Foxtrot – “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder

Judges Comments: Adam: “First I think it is so incredible to have the amazing Stevie Wonder perform tonight. I know if I had to do a performance with my dad on DWTS, it wouldn’t look anything like that. You were so good, this was one of your best performances.” Val: “Mr. Wonder thank you so much. Mandla you owned that performance, you showed so much care for your partner and it was the most powerful thing in the world.” Mandy: “I loved this number, I watched a beautiful couple dance around on the floor.”

Judges Scores: Val 9, Mandy 9, Adam 9 – 27/30

Akash Vukoti and Kamri Peterson (mentored by Witney Carson) – Jazz – “Jai Ho! (You are My Destiny)” by A.R. Rahman and The Pussycat Dolls

Judges Comments: Val: “Akash that was your best dance of the season, there were so many elements and you stayed in it. Congratulations.” Mandy: “I would have to agree, I feel like that routine had a lot of brain work happening. I thought that was really good, great job.” Adam: “Akash I think that you should be really proud of yourself because you and Kamri and Witney did great, your best dance so far.”

Judges Scores: Val 8, Mandy 8, Adam 7 = 23/30

Miles Brown and Rylee Arnold (mentored by Lindsay Arnold) – Foxtrot – “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

Judges Comments: Mandy: I’m in love with you two. There was some really beautiful dynamic there the way you slowed things down. The one thing I really loved is that there was a genuine sense of joy.” Adam: “You are killing it this competition, what you did tonight takes a lot of skill and a lot of control.” Val: “I think that was one of your best dances you did all season. This dance had a different flair, your technique was there.”

Judges Scores: Val 9, Mandy 9, Adam 8 = 26/30

Sky Brown and JT Church (mentored by Alan Bersten) – Foxtrot – “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry

Judges Comments: Adam: “I’m a little emotional, this dance is exactly what this show is about, I am so impressed, that was so good.” Val: “The world has fallen in love with dance because of you and performances like that, it was so special because of the emotional range that you had.” Mandy: “Technically I thought that was incredible. They looked coached to a tee. You guys were excellent tonight.”

Judges Scores: Val 9, Mandy 10, Adam 10 = 29/30

Mackenzie Ziegler and Sage Rosen (mentored by Gleb Savchenko) – Samba – “Cheap Thrills” by Sia featuring Sean Paul

Judges Comments: Val: “You killed that, it was awesome. I know what it is like to have an awesome older sibling in the business. Keep celebrating each other.” Mandy: “It is a treat to watch you dance. I loved that piece because you danced full out. Very well done.” Adam: “What a great way to show your friendship with your sister. So much talent in one family and you lift each other up.”

Judges Scores: Val 9, Mandy 9, Adam 9 = 27/30

Time for some results: This week the couple with the combined lowest audience and judge’s scores is Akash Vukoti and Kamri Peterson, they are eliminated.
