Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that an exciting episode’s on the way. Last year’s Halloween special was a huge hit with fans, so the show has another one coming up on October 31. They’re hoping Days viewers will be just as pleased this year.
Ron Carlivati, DOOL’s head writer, previewed his spooky holiday offering in the new issue of Soap Opera Digest. He admitted that his initial idea didn’t quite pan out, so he opted to take things in another direction. Carlivati wanted to do a parody of The Exorcist at first and provide a nod to Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) past possession. However, he quickly realized it was a bit too much to take on.
“The more we talked about it, it was a very complicated thing to do and we were limited by certain things,” Carlivati said. Fortunately, Carlivati had a back-up plan and it soon came together. He incorporated some of The Exorcist elements he wanted into his next idea: a parody of Rosemary’s Baby.
Naturally, Abigail’s (Marci Miller) pregnancy will be part of all the drama. It was her nightmare that took center stage last year, but it looks like another character will dream up some horror in 2018. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Hattie (Deidre Hall) will indeed have a nightmare this week, so that may come into play here.
DOOL watchers can expect some intriguing returns, including Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). In this alternate version of the story, it looks like Andre will be the father of Abigail’s child. He’ll even play the baby in a funny and twisted moment. If you’re looking for some Halloween humor, Days of Our Lives spoilers say you’ll definitely want to tune in.
This special will mostly be a fun break from the usual action, but a very real bombshell will hit in the last scene. “The final twist at the end of the episode will have a major impact on John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena’s current storyline,” Carlivati promised. That’ll undoubtedly be due to Hattie. Perhaps her chaotic nightmare will result in a big decision that affects “Jarlena’s” future.
Judith Chapman will also appear as a ghost in this Halloween episode, so that’s something else to look forward to. She’ll be an apparition of Anjelica for now, but don’t miss her run as Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) mother down the road. We’ll give you updates as other Days news comes in.
