General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has a shocking secret contact in the WSB, who doesn’t necessarily have the best interests of the WSB’s business in mind! On the General Hospital May 4 episode, Valentin called a contact about getting a plan to get Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) on the plane for a legitimate WSB reason.
This contact has to be in a position of power at the WSB in order to have access to that plane and to order it about. Then Robert got a call and said to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) something about having to go handle a case he’d been trying to solve. Valentin’s contact obviously was also aware of that case!
Valentin told Peter August that the plan for Robert was in motion, and then GH fans saw Robert on a plane with a drink after which he became woozy and confused. Who then but Valentin sits down next to him and says, “Nighty night.” General Hospital buzz goes with the assumption that Robert was poisoned. Peter had used the wording “It’s time to take him down”, referring to Robert in a scene a couple of days ago.
However, General Hospital fans will remember a couple of years back when Valentin showed up on a plane and sat next to Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) and the implication was that he killed her. That was until a few months ago when Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) showed him a picture of Claudette holding a current newspaper!
So Valentin may only have intended to neutralize Robert long enough to solve the Peter/Heinrik problem. He may have spiked Robert’s drink with a drug that would cause Robert not to remember what happened or that Valentin was there, so he couldn’t implicate him later on. Whether he poisoned Robert or merely drugged him remains to be seen.
General Hospital viewers want to know who’s been bought and paid for by Valentin in the WSB or who there might have an interest in the Peter mystery. Valentin’s supposedly late uncle Victor Cassadine (Thaao Penghlis) would be an excellent choice for this job. It is also significant that Thaao (Andre DiMera) is no longer filming on Days of Our Lives and is available – Thaao is extremely popular with soap fans and is a favorite everywhere he goes.
Long time GH viewers will recall that several years ago Victor was the head of the WSB. Victor Cassadine was presumed to have perished after being shot by Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and his body destroyed in the explosion and fire at the Crichton-Clark clinic.
This occurred right after Dr. O showed him Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) paternity documents. Victor was quite upset that she had lied to him about being Nathan’s father! Dr. Obrecht was taking no chances with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) finding out the truth and coming after her dear son.
Of course Victor could have escaped alive and re-infiltrated the WSB. It wouldn’t be the first time Victor Cassadine returned from the dead. So was Robert poisoned or merely drugged, and will Valentin get away with it and accomplish his goal of getting Robert of the chase.
