General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) will get a visit from her attorney, Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight), on November 7.
It’s not like Nelle and Martin are friends, so we can only assume Nelle will summon him for an important discussion. We can also assume this will involve some new scheme to secure Nelle’s freedom. What exactly will Nelle want to discuss with Martin?
Martin is definitely a hotshot lawyer who really knows his stuff. If anyone can help Nelle, it’s Martin. Of course, he may live to regret it if Nelle indeed gets out of prison and wreaks havoc. First thing’s first though! Nelle’s undoubtedly been sitting behind bars strategizing since her parole hearing. She was furious when she realized she wouldn’t be waltzing out of Pentonville that night.
Nelle won’t be up for parole again anytime soon, so what are her alternatives? Her goal when going before the parole board was to take responsibility and show she’d learned from her mistakes. Now that parole’s off the table for now, GH spoilers say Nelle can get back to playing the blame game. Perhaps Nelle’s found some legal loophole for Martin to pursue. She’s definitely interested in pushing this “pregnancy hormones made me do it” idea.
However, there are other options besides legal freedom for Nelle. There’s been no talk about Chloe Lanier making a long-term General Hospital comeback, so an escape would make more sense. Nelle might still need Martin’s help to set that up – although he wouldn’t know what she was up to.
Maybe Nelle will try selling some sob story about how she’s being targeted. She might provoke another inmate into attacking her, which wouldn’t be too hard since Nelle knows how to get under someone’s skin.
If Nelle can score a transfer to another facility, that’d give her a better shot at escaping. Things are locked up awfully tight at Pentonville. It’d be much easier to make a break for it during some transport van chaos.
Whatever the case, Martin’s visit to see Nelle seemingly proves she’s not giving up. Nelle’s determined to get back out in the world and reunite with her son, which should spell big trouble for Brad Cooper (Parry Shen).
There’s a good chance Nelle will go after “Wiley Cooper-Jones” aka Jonah Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) at some point.
