The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 9, tease that Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) showdown with Summer Newman (Hunter King) will continue. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will try to send them to their corners, but the tension will remain.
Meanwhile, punches will start flying between Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will finally get fed up with all the fighting, so she’ll grab a microphone and convince everyone to cool it. She’ll get that there are complicated histories all around, but she’ll want them to put the conflict on hold for the night.
Mariah will echo the idea and propose a toast to “Kola.” After the party settles down, Abby will be sorry for her role in the chaos. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will hope to do a little damage control and keep it off social media. Back with Lola, she’ll chat with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) will come up during this discussion, so Jack will give Lola a comforting hug.
Summer will glare nearby, but Jack will approach her soon after. He’ll disapprove of all the drama and suggest that Theo is bad news. When Theo wants to bail on this shindig, Summer will decide to go along. She’ll pause to sneak another peek at Kyle and Lola as she exits. Once the elevator breaks down, Summer and Theo will use the opportunity to hook up.
Over with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), he’ll vent to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) about Abby and get some advice. Elena won’t think Nate should chase Abby; he should let her come to him. After Nate and Elena dance for a bit, he’ll tell Abby he’s taking Elena home. That’ll leave Abby taken aback, so Elena will think her plan’s working. She’ll be eager to see what Abby does when Nate’s not in hot pursuit.
Back with Jack, he’ll decide to head to Miami and make things right for Lola’s sake. Jack will promise Kyle he’s not coming back without Celeste. At Society, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will scold Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for losing his cool with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and making matters worse. She’ll ultimately approach Adam to offer a warning and try to help Nick out.
Victoria will point out that Adam could lose visitation rights if he’s causing stress for the boy. She’ll insist that Adam used Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) to get a reaction out of Nick, so she’ll put Adam on notice. Adam will note that he wants Nick to serve jailtime for the assault. Soon after, Nick will meet up with Rey to discuss what went down with Adam. He’ll tell his side of the story and assure Rey that he was provoked.
Rey will agree to stall on this, but he’ll be determined to go by the book. Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) gave Rey one more chance, so Y&R fans know he can’t afford to screw it up. At Nick’s house, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) will try to sell Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) on the idea of staying in Genoa City. He’ll fret about Calvin Boudreaud’s (John Burke) and not having a dad anymore.
That’s when Chelsea will gently drop the Adam bomb. She’ll suggest that they didn’t have all the facts after the explosion, so it turns out his father is alive. Connor will be excited by Chelsea’s updates and push to see Adam immediately. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam won’t pay attention to Chelsea’s call, so she’ll suggest Connor can visit tomorrow.
However, Connor will battle some insecurities. He’ll fear that maybe he was lied to about Adam’s death because Adam doesn’t want to be his daddy. Chelsea will insist that’s not true, but Connor will remain upset. As a result, Chelsea will phone Nick to let him know she’ll be taking Connor over to Adam’s place tonight.
Victoria will think maybe this is good news since Adam will have another kid to obsess over. Nick, on the other hand, will worry Adam’s just going to go after both Christian and Connor. At the penthouse, Chelsea will arrive with Connor. A stunned Adam will hug Connor and assure him of his love. Adam will also express his gratitude to Chelsea, who’ll agree to let Connor stay the night if she stays as well.
