Joanna meets with Dr. Stone’s attorney. He tells her she doesn’t have a chance. No-one is going to believe his client is responsible for faulty tests. After the attorney leaves, Joanna struggles to breathe. She has one more day to figure this all out.

Owen meets with the mayor about Clear Dawn Labs. She oversees the budget. He asks her about it. She tells him she did nothing wrong.

Joanna and Billy meet with Sam. They have discovered he was extorting the lab. He verifies that the mayor knew about the change in testing. Luna gets upset when she sees Sam.

Owen and Diane finally talk about her affair. She wants to discuss it. He won’t even look at her. Meanwhile, Taylor visits Owen. He tells her Sam has cut a deal. She needs to let it all go.

Joanna preps Kodie for the stand. She gets upset about the questions asked. Billy finds his dad at the bar to give a suit and shoes for the next day. His dad assures him he is drinking just soda.

Joanna comes home to see a child services worker on her steps. She received a tip that Joanna was pregnant and unsafe. Joanna refuses to let her in until the woman shares she doesn’t need permission. Billy comes home later. Joanna tells him what happened. This is all a tactic.

In court, Joanna cross-examines Kodie. It goes well. The opposing counsel however gets Kodie upset when they ask about her prior fraud charge. Sam takes the stand next to and is ripped apart for his past and lack of employment. Suddenly, Joanna falls to the floor in pain.

At the doctors, they hear the heartbeat. Joanna is concerned about getting Hank on the stand. Later, Hank gets on the stand and is noticeably drunk. He is dismissed as a witness.

Dr. Stone takes the stand next. Joanna cross-examines him. She has him read samples before having him read his own test from a glass he used. He tested positive for crack and alcohol. He doesn’t know what to say at first but Billy asks for an adjournment. He is granted one.

Luna and Joanna sit and talk later that night. Luna gives her a gift for the baby. They talk about their dad and how kids are now losing their families due to their case.

The next day at court, Luna brings Joanna a promising folder. Joanna asks Dr. Stone about the death of his sister. She gets him so upset he explodes on the stand, telling everyone shouldn’t be parents.

The judge rules in favor of the families and Kodie. The court goes crazy with tears and laughter. Later, Kodie is reunited with her kids.

Owen and Diane argue about their uncomfortable situation. Owen confesses he is mad Sam will walk free. Then he tells her he loves her. She says the same. They hug. Owen meets with Billy and Joanna at the bar. Taylor comes by. She has a recording of Sam trying to buy information from her. It looks like they can get him after all. They talk about her joining law enforcement.

Billy and Joanna dance and talk. They talk about raising their baby minus the dysfunction of their past lives. The next day Owen forwards his files about the mayor to a superior.

Time has passed. Joanna is ready to give birth any day. The Crawford, Chang firm is buzzing. Billy and Joanna are in love and happy. Luna has won her first case in small claims. Kodie spends time with her girls. The mayor of Millwood is taken away in cuffs.
