Camilla Parker-Bowles Hosts Reception – The reception was held at Camilla’s London home, Clarence House. On Tuesday, the 72-year-old wore a bold red dress with a v-neck and pleated skirt. The Duchess of Cornwall is a patron of Versus Arthritis, as well as the president of the Royal Osteoporosis Society. The cause is important to her due to a personal connection: osteoporosis killed her mother.
Those who attended the reception included medical professionals, researchers, caregivers, fundraisers as well as those who care about someone diagnosed with the condition.
Duchess of Cornwall’s Charity Work – Arthritis Statistics – Arthritis affects 10 million people, according to the charity. There are five types that are seen quite often. However, there are over 100 medical conditions that fall under the arthritic category. The symptoms can range from mild to crippling and occasional to around-the-clock. There are many possible causes, symptoms, treatments and even how pain management is doled out depends on a variety of factors.
The charity just isn’t concerned about treatment and pain management, though. The website states that one of their goals is so that one day, nobody will have to live with the agony and isolation that arthritis causes.
