General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the ABC soap has let several pairing possibilities go to waste! There are certainly plenty of hot duos on GH, but there are also some that the show hasn’t taken full advantage of. Here are four missed opportunity couples that deserve a real chance at romance.
1) Drew and Sam
After Drew Cain (Billy Miller) found out he was Drew and not Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) stood by Drew briefly. However, Drew was never fully developed as his own person outside of his fake Jason memories. As Drew faded to the background, so did his romance with Sam.
It’s a shame since many viewers liked Drew and Sam’s chemistry together. Plus, twin brothers battling over Sam in a love triangle would’ve been soap opera gold. General Hospital never really pursued that angle, but there’s always the possibility it could be revisited if Drew’s presumed death is undone.
2) Valentin and Anna
Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) would be a sizzling pair if GH would just let this happen! “Vanna” shippers are patiently waiting for Anna and Valentin to find love. This is definitely another case of excellent chemistry that’s going to waste.
If Anna and Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) relationship crashes and burns, maybe Valentin and Anna will get their shot. It’d be nice to see Valentin break out of his Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) rut and fall for Anna. There are sure to be some romantic shakeups on new GH episodes, so we’ll see if Anna and Valentin head down new paths.
3) Finn and Hayden
Finn and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) are another hot pairing that always seems to fizzle. Hayden and Finn might’ve reunited if Hayden had stayed on GH, but it didn’t pan out. If General Hospital can bring Hayden back for a longer stint down the road, it’d be nice to see Finn and Hayden become a happy family with Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). These three deserve to find some bliss together!
4) Lucky and Liz
Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) always felt like the endgame couple that’d come back around. Liz and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) are a cute couple, and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) isn’t a bad option for Liz either.
Nevertheless, Lucky and Liz’s love story is just begging for another chapter! Many GH fans are hoping this romance will be revisited one day.
