General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Ava Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will have some new reasons to bond down the road.
GH fans know three things that Nina isn’t in the loop on right now: 1) Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) is Nina’s biological daughter, 2) Nelle is presumed dead and 3) Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) are covering up the truth about that presumed demise.
Sooner or later, Nina will become privy to all three of those facts. If Jax figures out Nelle is Nina’s bio daughter somewhere along the way and hides it, that’ll make matters worse. However, we want to focus on Nina’s devastation about finding out her daughter’s already deceased.
Nelle will inevitably show back up alive at some point, but Nina can’t predict the future. Nina will have to deal with this difficult loss, but Ava may be able to help with that.
General Hospital fans will recall that Ava never got a sense of closure after Kiki Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) murder. Kiki and Ava were never able to patch things up, so she’ll be able to relate to Nina’s situation.
Ava would give anything to be able to make amends with Kiki, and Nina should feel the same way once she realizes Nelle’s gone. Nina may blame herself for driving Nelle over the edge – literally!
If Nina had supported Nelle at the custody hearing, perhaps Nelle would’ve scored joint custody with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and learned to be OK with that.
Nina may feel like her betrayal sparked Nelle’s downward spiral and ultimately led to her falling off that cliff. That’s something Ava could relate to as well – at least in a way.
Although Ava didn’t mean for Kiki to face a grim fate, she’s still the reason her daughter’s dead. If Ava hadn’t been involved with “Kevin Collins” aka Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), Kiki wouldn’t have been killed.
Ava has dealt with her own grief battle, so she should be able to help Nina in the months ahead. That may be why GH writers started inching these two in the direction of friendship.
Nina and Ava may also bond over their mutual Carly hatred eventually. There may be a moment where Nina admits Ava was right about Jax always putting Carly first.
Of course, we can’t forget that Kiki and Nelle were half-sisters through their dead father, Silas Clay (Michael Easton), so that’ll be yet another reason for Ava and Nina to come together.
Ava seems poised to become a crucial ally for Nina, so stay tuned to see how this might benefit them both. We’ll fill you in as other GH news and updates emerge.
