General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) recently showed a genuine moment of concern for Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). Since Valentin heard about Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) new marriage to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), he decided to see how Sasha was holding up.
Valentin pointed out that he knew what it was like to lose someone over something he’d done. Sasha connected with Valentin as she reflected on helping him dupe Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). GH fans know Valentin wanted to give Nina the daughter she so desperately desired, so he hired Sasha to pose as a fake one.
Valentin only hoped to win Nina back and make her happy, so Sasha couldn’t hate him for that. Now more than ever, Sasha understands that sometimes you have to do the wrong thing for the right reasons.
Sasha made the ultimate sacrifice when she let Michael think she was having an affair with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). She just wants Michael’s happiness – and that means making sure he gets custody of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
As Valentin watches Nina move on with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), Sasha’s watching Michael lock in his future with Willow.
As their confirmation wrapped up, Valentin and Sasha were also on the same page about money not being able to buy you happiness. There’s plenty of common ground here, which is interesting. Sasha and Valentin also happen to be single, so was their moment of connection a setup for something more?
It’s a possibility worth mulling over since that was an unusual and quite sweet scene. It could just be more evidence that Valentin’s got a heart. GH writers seem to be trying to play that up lately, so that might be an easy explanation.
However, there could also be a more complex one. General Hospital could be paving the way for Valentin and Sasha to date or at least hook up.
It’d be pretty soapy if Valentin slept with the woman who once posed as his true love’s daughter. It could also cause a huge setback with Nina if she found out. Nina most likely wouldn’t approve of Valentin and Sasha falling into bed together – although she’d probably try to act like it was none of her business.
Nevertheless, both Sasha and Valentin are in pain. It’s easy to imagine these two surrendering to passion since they understand each other so well. Sasha seems to be on the verge of developing a drug problem, which Valentin could either help her with or make worse if this hookup of theirs is exposed.
