Kevin Frazier hosts the special, joining him are Emily Longeretta from US Weekly, Angelique Jackson from Variety, Tierney Bricker from E! News, and Max Fata from The Celeb Talk Guy. Emily says she is looking forward to seeing Amelia and Bennett get married. Angelique thinks a lot of the couples are going to go up in smoke.
We get to see some unseen footage where one of the engaged women gets a text, she wasn’t supposed to, and it has the name of her fiancé. She knows who he is and she says he is not her type. And, she is worried that she is making the biggest decision of her life. This is the first time that this has ever happened in Married in First Sight history. All the guest thinks the woman should just go ahead with it, they remind us of Jamie and Doug, she wasn’t into him and now they have two children.
Max thinks Woody and Amani are polar opposites. Emily thinks she is a little shy, but she likes to have fun too. Kevin asks if they think Woody makes a move on the wedding night. Emily thinks they will make it, Angelique is a yes, Tierney is a yes with a question mark, Max doesn’t think these two will make it, Kevin thinks they will.
The professionals join Kevin; Dr. Pepper, Viviana, and Pastor Cal.
Pastor Cal says he always hopes for the best, Dr. Pepper says they threw out people that they liked because of their online presence. They talk about Woody and Amani, Pastor Cal says that Amani has a wild side, she dresses up and goes out a lot. Karen and Miles, Pastor Cal was really excited about these two. Dr. Pepper hopes Karen sees what they do in Miles, he is a stand-up guy. Now, Bennett and Amelia, Dr. Pepper love them together. Pastor Cal gave in to Dr. Pepper’s expertise on that one. Olivia and Brett, Kevin is worried that he may be too much into physical looks.
We get to see into Christina and Henry’s life and their wedding day, they both look amazing. Tierney says she doesn’t even think they are going to have sex this season. She hopes Christina brings Henry out of his shell. Emily gives the relationship a thumbs down, so does Angelique, and Tierney. Max is 50/50, but after eight weeks, a thumbs down. Kevin says thumbs up, they are a great match.
MAFS alum, Ashley, and Anthony give wedding night advice to the new couples, consummate the marriage.
Kevin asks what are the challenges dating in New Orleans; Tierney says someone could know someone else because New Orleans is small. Angelique agrees. Max says he thinks New Orleans will be a great thing to connect the couples. Emily thinks there is a mysterious world in New Orleans, fun things. New Orleans has a huge personality and Toya Jackson, NY Times best selling author tells us a little bit more.
She says it is beautiful, she was born and raised there and there is a lot of love to give. They are known for jazz, great food, and Mardi Gras. It is very romantic, especially near the lake, you can eat seafood of your choice, go for a trolly ride, get to know each other, and have a good time. When you go on a date in New Orleans, everyone talks about it.
We take a look at Karen and Miles. Tierney loves the two of them, he is her favorite guy this season. Max sees some red flags, particularly the age, he is 26, four years younger than her.
Shawniece and Jephte join us from their home in Boston. Shawniece says it is good that her family lives upstairs, they get help with their daughter Laura. Jephte says that the experts got it right, Shawniece agrees. It was tough in the beginning, but they made it through and are very happy together. Angelique asks Jephte what does he think about a 26-year-old coming on the show. Jephte says it is going to be tough, he will have to put in the work. Regarding Karen and Miles, Max thinks they will make it, so does Emily, Angelique, Tierney – but Kevin is not sure about these two because he is younger.
On to Brett and Olivia, they are both cat lovers. Max says he has never seen a man as cocky as Brett on this show before. He told Viviana that he is attractive. Emily says we have to give Brett the benefit of the doubt. We get a sneak peek of Brett at his bachelor party, he hits on Henry’s friend. He hasn’t even made it down the aisle and Brett is flirting with another woman. Max is done with him, Emily thinks there may be a chance, Angelique says no, Tierney thinks that the experts loved Olivia so much that they just wanted this to work for her, but not with Brett. Kevin is skeptical as well. Stephanie and AJ think the new couples are going to really enjoy their journey.
We take a look back at Dr. Pepper visiting the candidates at their homes. She says it is her favorite part of the process, it helps her to get to know them really well, she even goes into their underwear drawer. She says the strangest thing she has ever seen is one person had a closet full of clothes for his dog.
Amelia and Bennett seem to be the favorite. Max loves couples, they are cute and compliment each other. Angelique says she will be very disappointed if these two don’t work out. Kevin doesn’t see any plan with Bennett. Emily thinks the two have a lot going on. Emily thinks they are going to love each other. Tierney thinks they are going to be the show’s biggest success stories. Max is completely sold on them. Angelique thinks this is a match truly made in MAFS heaven. Emily gives it a thumbs up. Kevin gives them a thumbs down.
Jamie and Doug are there with their new baby. Jamie says she is a big fan and so excited to see the new couples. Doug loves the beginning part when it is awkward.
