In tonight’s NCIS: ORIGINS episode, Randy got abducted during last season’s finale. Most didn’t even know about it at first. Gibbs and Lala were wrapped up in new love. They finally confessed their feelings to each other after a couple of years of pining. They were going to make a go of it when that night changed everything.

It changed things in a bad sense because thirty-four years later it had been Gibbs dealing with the repercussions of what happened afterwards. There were assassins that followed him to his secluded cabin in Alaska. They shot him. They crippled his dog. There’s no telling what will happen to Gibbs back then or the one in the 90s that had fallen for Lala.

What interrupted them was a phone call. Franks called Lala because he couldn’t get in touch with the guys. He said there’s been a homicide and that he was hoping to catch her before she left.

Lala was intending to leave the newly named NCIS to go be with her boyfriend upstate. She chose to stay back because she realized she didn’t love Manny as much as she loves Gibbs. She wanted him to ask her to stay so she waited and the two finally confessed their feelings tonight just to get interrupted by Franks with this homicide.

The murder of Marine Sergeant Zachary Crudo was considered random at first. The man went out with a few buddies. He told them he had to use the bathroom and was killed in there by someone who also took his wallet. It wasn’t until Randy’s car was found abandoned with all of his things that they thought there might be something more.

Woody and Joe found the car. They reported it. Franks was quick to leave the scene of the homicide because they got a fingerprint. They even had the Medical Examiner check the body.

It turns out Crudo once worked as Former Regional Director Barrett’s driver. Barrett was fired recently with the help of Wheeler and the women he harassed. Barrett was still pretty bitter about it because it just happened. Everyone attached to him either got fired or demoted for overlooking his behavior.

He was deemed radioactive. Crudo was also planning on getting away for a while because of him. He planned on taking a trip to Belize. They had to interview Barrett and he was just as disgusting as ever, but the search did intensify for Randy.

They got security footage showing that Randy was abducted before being put in a van. The van stopped at a gas station. Randy was in the back and he sent a message. He sent it in Morse code. It said “U-S-S-R”. The Russians grabbed Randy. His friends and his coworkers were worried because the Russians grabbing a federal agent spelled trouble. They didn’t think Randy would be left alive. Which his wife overheard when she got called in. Junie was freaking out. She’s seen the movies. She knows the Russians would kill her husband the first chance they got.

The only reason they wouldn’t kill him was if they wanted to torture him for information. Luckily, Vera turned a Russian spy years ago. Vlad took one look of the security footage from the gas station and he recognized those men as dangerous. He gave them tips seemingly under duress.

The guy only turned against the Russians because the Americans bought him a Blockbuster. He loves American movies. He loves the safety that his family has there. Or so he claimed. He gave them information and by time they tracked Randy down – he was chained to the floor of a trailer and appeared dead.

Luckily, it had been a trick. Randy played dead to get them to leave him alone. They still set the building on fire so his team got him out of there and fast and he woke up later. He interrogated the man they caught for himself. It turns out that they got his password from Gail. It’s why they truly stopped bothering him.

They also switched out his computer. The one in the office had been taken by Crudo. Crudo stole Martha II and was intending to get paid for it when he got double-crossed. It was Gibbs who figured out the killer was Barrett.

Barrett got his cigar smoke on the murder scene floor. He lied about a big job over. He knew that Randy was uploading naval files onto Martha II. Barrett was willing to sell out his country because he lost everything once he was revealed to be a sleaze. Barrett was later arrested. He hadn’t given over Martha II to the Russians just yet. So, the guy they caught gave up his friends.

The ones that hurt Randy were going to prison. They would perhaps be at the same prison as Barrett himself and won’t that be fun. And it was all because Barrett couldn’t help smoking his cigars in the office.

Randy was going to be alright because he’s Randy. He went out with the whole office for drinks with Junie. Gibbs had even gotten to show off his party trick of slowing down your heartrate so that you read as dead. He did this as he secretly began to start a relationship with Lala. They weren’t planning on telling anyone anytime soon. Vera halfway guessed it. And she’ll keep it quiet if it was for Lala.

Gibbs then used his playing dead trick again to fool the assassins in the modern times. He went to Alaska to finally tell Lala’s story and he was leaving after five years of writing it. He was going to track down who wanted him dead.

THE END!
