Writing this specific character back into the show would stir interest, as Kanan’s performances are always compelling.

Hope is finally righting her life. She’s pushed off Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and has apparently been living peacefully with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), Beth, and Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) in recent months. New episodes will offer an update as to Lope’s overall situation.
Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) has stood by Hope and played a significant role in keeping pressure on Thomas, while he was employing a series of psychological games. Hope might benefit by having her father return, which offers him the benefit of the doubt based on his checkered backstory.

An event where Deacon plays the hero in jail could enable an early parole. He’d return to Los Angeles, California, rather than Genoa City, Wisconsin, where he’s been a crossover character in order to see Hope and Beth.
Deacon would reacquaint himself with his daughter and get to meet his first grandchild. Possibly a SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) Eric Sharpe (as last played by Field Cate) could join his dad as well.
