The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers has some news to pass on about a recent health crisis being faced by a B&B star. Katrina Bowden, who portrays Flo Fulton on the CBS soap, recently posted on social media that she was facing some upcoming dental surgery and some pretty severe dental problems.
Katrina posted a photo of herself on Instagram along with a caption saying that she had just gotten back from the dentist and had found out that she needs to get gum grafting done, and that it may take up to four surgeries (yikes!) to complete.
Katrina went on to say that she found out that she still brushes too hard, grinds her teeth, and clenches her jaw too much.
And as a result, she needs to get a TMJ Botox injection again – something that she had hoped that she was done with for good. That’s a lot of bad news to get on one trip to the dentist, and soon her followers and fans were weighing in with comments about what she might do to remedy the situation.
One follower wrote: “Try celery juice. It’s great for gums and stopped my clenching.” But Katrina remained skeptical that this would eliminate all her problems. “I understand it has a lot of benefits,” she replied. “But I have a hard time imagining it will make the gum around my teeth grow back in or stop me from grinding.”
Another follower suggested that Katrina sleep with a mouth guard, which could help her eliminate the teeth grinding. Katrina replied that she had been down that road before, with little success. Specifically, she said: “Mouth guards are great if you can use them! I end up taking it out every night while I’m sleeping like a sleepwalking zombie.”
And still another follower had a question. She wrote: “You’re having Botox for TMJ? Does that work?” Katrina quickly replied, saying: “It does work! I did it a year ago, a couple of sessions. But it does wear off.”
