The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that many fans are fed up over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Abbott’s (Sasha Calle) recent split. Although Mealor and Calle delivered some gripping performances, the breakup itself left a lot to be desired. It was all a pretty lackluster end to “Kola’s” love story. Even some “Skyle” shippers found this whole Kyle and Lola fizzle to be a bit “meh.”
Nevertheless, Lola and Kyle indeed decided to end their marriage, so now it’s time to start thinking about what’s next. It’s clear that Y&R’s moving full-speed ahead with Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Some viewers have been complaining about this seeming like a rewrite, but it’s more like getting back to the original story – which was Kyle wanting Summer. Kyle pined for her like crazy when he first returned to town, but Summer put up a fight.
By the time Summer wised up and realized what she was missing out on, it was too late. Kyle was already falling for Lola, and that’s what kicked off this love triangle.
Now the timing is finally right for “Skyle” and they both want each other, but what about Lola? Should she really be with Theo? There’s a lot of talk about Lola deserving better, which seems to be true.
Lola’s background is similar to Theo, but that’s not all it takes to make a solid relationship. It may have helped them connect, but Theo is still manipulative and always has been.
Summer and Kyle have a lengthy history, so their reunion at least makes sense. However, there’s no reason why Lola has to be limited to Theo. Should The Young and the Restless open up some options to her? Should they give Lola a shot at a new man?
Theo worked as more of a temporary bad boy who came blazing in and stirred up summer drama. However, he’s overstayed his welcome in many viewers’ eyes. If Y&R wanted to make Theo the kind of guy fans could root for, they probably shouldn’t have let him cross so many lines. It’s tough to shake that sleazy image at this point.
Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) is headed back to Genoa City soon, and some fans think he’d be a good match for Lola. Although he comes from money like Kyle, Noah has proven he’s understanding about those with different backgrounds. He was always mindful of that back when he was dating Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
Speaking of Tessa, there’s another interesting link Y&R could make here. Kyle and Summer shared a kiss in a San Francisco hotel suite, which they decided to put in “the vault.”

If there was ever someone who could relate to Lola in that sense, it’s Noah! He’s also got a kind heart like Lola, so maybe they deserve a chance to hit it off. If The Young and the Restless decides to bring Noah back long-term at some point, he’d certainly be an option to consider.
There aren’t many other current characters who’d be a good fit for Lola, but Y&R could always swap Theo out for someone else. Maybe it’s time for some new blood – a fresh hunk who would treat Lola right without longing for his ex or using her like a pawn.
