The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that both Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are at a crossroads in their lives. For Jack, he’s got to move on after Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) death.
It’s time for Jack to go back to living his life after so much time spent caring for Dina and watching her gradual demise. Jack seems to need a woman to bring out his playful, fun side again and bring him back to life.
And then there’s Sally, who’s new to Genoa City and needs someone to show her around. In terms of romance, Sally is coming out of what she recently described on the show as a toxic relationship, which was actually a terrible situation in which Sally faked a terminal illness to hang onto a guy.
Sally finally let go, and now she seems to need someone to bring her back to the dating scene, too.
So why couldn’t Jack and Sally get together, even for just a while? Sure, there’s a big age difference there, but Jack and Sally could be good for each other, if even just for the short-term.
We could even see a situation in which Sally uses her relationship with Jack to propel her to a new career – after all, Sally’s not going to want to be Lauren Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) assistant forever!
We think that Jack and Sally could be good for each other, but imagine all the angst Jack’s new young girlfriend would cause among his family.
The Abbotts would probably raise an eyebrow or two over Jack taking up with a much younger woman, although part of them would probably be happy that Jack is getting his mojo back.
And we might even see people like Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) get behind Jack’s relationship with Sally if it makes him happy.
But we suspect that there would be a couple of people who would really worry about Jack having a fling with Sally.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) would probably question what on earth his dad is thinking, and he’d probably have full agreement in that sentiment from Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Summer already doesn’t particularly care for Sally, and if Sally hooks up with Jack, then Summer will probably think that Sally’s using Jack to get ahead.
Of course, everything these days seems to give Kyle great angst, so he’d probably grump to his dad about the wisdom of dating someone like Sally. And who knows – Kyle could have some attraction of his own to Sally, so there could be a little jealousy there.
And if Summer picks up on that dynamic, there could be some real drama!
We’ll see what happens here, but something tells us it could be mutually beneficial for Jack and Sally to embark on a relationship, at least for a while. Both Jack and Sally seem to need a reset, and they’d probably be good for each other!
