Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Clyde Weston’s (James Read) freedom may bring a new threat to Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) baby, so Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) dad is bound to cause some marriage turmoil. Let’s consider what we know so far.
There’s been a lot of talk lately about the abuse Ben endured as a child and how he’s going to be a better father to his own son or daughter.
Ciara has trashed Clyde plenty of times and even showed Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) his picture when Susan was unsure of what evil force might be after the baby.
It’s clear that Ciara views Clyde as a threat, so that could become a bigger issue down the road. Possessed Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) is Ben and Ciara’s current problem, but there’ll inevitably be a new crisis once that story wraps up.
Days spoilers say Clyde is indeed coming back, but that’s only cause for alarm if he gets out of prison. Ciara’s not going to care if Ben visits his old man behind bars. The only way Clyde’s return creates any drama is if he somehow becomes a free man.
Of course, Clyde could steal his freedom himself if he plots another escape. If Days leans into the villain angle, Clyde could kidnap his new grandbaby or at least make Ciara fear he’s going to.
However, the best story DOOL could tell is one where Clyde walks free legally. Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) has done just as many horrible things as Clyde, but he’s walking around town as one of the show’s romantic leads.
There’s no reason Clyde can’t get out of prison by some soapy explanation, too.
That would be an excellent storyline since despite all the Clyde slamming recently, Ben actually has a pretty good relationship with his dad now. Clyde is remorseful about how he treated Ben in the past and has genuinely tried to make amends.
Ben would be torn if Clyde showed up on his doorstep hoping to reconnect on the outside and be a grandpa to Ben’s child. Ciara would be vehemently against the idea, so Days could deliver another great obstacle for Ben and Ciara to contend with.
Whatever the case, Clyde will return in the coming months and will no doubt bring some trouble with him! We’ll provide updates as other DOOL news rolls in.
