General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Spencer Cassadine (last played by Nicolas Bechtel) should make an exciting return down the road. GH fans know Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) received a dead roach and a cryptic note for Valentine’s Day, but it’s not Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) who’s behind those creepy gifts.
Ryan’s mail pile also contained a letter that was sent to Spencer and marked returned to sender. That seemed like GH writers’ way of setting up Spencer’s eventual Port Charles comeback.
That’s especially true since Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) has been concerned about Spencer’s lack of support for his marriage to Ava.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) feels confident Spencer will come around at some point and doesn’t want Nikolas to give up on his son. However, it looks like Spencer’s already plotting to destroy the real “Nava” nuptials – and things are only going to get worse down the road.
GH weddings often come with a crasher and a disaster. We saw that recently with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), who waltzed in Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) marriage ceremony and created chaos with Alex Devane Marick’s (Finola Hughes) message from beyond the grave.
Will Spencer derail the “Nava” wedding next? Although Nikolas and Ava are technically married, their feelings are now genuine. Ava accepted Nikolas’ proposal and wants to keep this marriage going strong as a real one.
That’s obviously a major problem for Spencer, who might refuse to attend this gathering at first. Nikolas might even tell Spencer not to come if he can’t suck it up and get on board. Whatever the case, Spencer may end up bursting in for an objection at this exciting event.
Since there’s been some strong General Hospital buzz about a slightly older Spencer recast, the mystery of who’s targeting Ava and wedding revelation seem like a great introduction strategy for the new guy.
If we’re indeed getting a new Spencer, we may see him strut in Nikolas’ wedding to Ava and face off with his father the groom.
Could May sweeps be when all this goes down? That’d be long enough to get past all the double wedding drama and gear up for some new Spencer mayhem.
