General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) are focused on keeping Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) alive so she can recant her eyewitness statement.
Gladys is crucial if Anna and Carly want to clear Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) name and take down Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
However, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) has repeatedly warned Gladys about how dangerous it is to be too connected to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Now Gladys is on Peter’s radar as well, so she’s tied to two deadly people.
What are the chances that Gladys gets out of this mess she’s in alive and well?
Gladys may not have good odds if she lets herself get manipulated into changing her version of events. Carly and Anna are hoping that with Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) help, Gladys will end up implicating Peter instead of Jason.
Unfortunately, Gladys could be a dead woman if she does! Peter could kill or at least have Gladys killed in retaliation. The same goes for Cyrus if he no longer has any use for Gladys, who’s honestly a major pest anyway.
Gladys is an expendable character, so it’d be smart for GH writers to kill her off and raise the stakes. Although Brando has plenty of issues with Gladys, she’s still his mom.
There’s a certain mother-son bond there that hasn’t been erased by her personality and penchant for getting into trouble.
Sadly, Brando’s warnings may not be enough to save Gladys from a grim fate. If Gladys becomes the next fatality on General Hospital, Brando may blame Cyrus for it.
Whether Cyrus actually delivers the deadly order or that comes through Peter, this alliance may be the reason Gladys turns up dead.
This could motivate Brando to seek revenge and hopefully speed things along when it comes to sinking Cyrus. If Peter goes down in the process, that’s even better.
The point is Gladys is in grave danger – and Brando could wind up with a reason to avenge her death down the road.
