General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, May 18 Recap – Maxie Babymoon Spa Snag – Sonny & Nina Follow Crime Trail – Finn’s Slipup

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 18, reveals that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) faced a babymoon spa snag while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) followed a crime trail.

As for Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), he made a slipup in a moment of panicked anger with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

At a Canadian lighthouse on Tuesday’s episode, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) suggested Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) wasn’t kidding about the place being isolated. She found a deck of playing cards and suggested she should probably check Jason’s stitches as well as change his bandage.

Jason wanted to wash up first, so Britt pulled out the burner phone to make a call while Jason was out of the room. When Jason returned moments later, he pushed Britt to reveal who she was calling.

Britt wanted to check in with Maxie and knew she had to keep it short. She pointed out that she trusted Jason all the way to a Canadian lighthouse and needed him to trust her on this.

Jason assured Britt that he indeed trusted her. He just wanted to make sure Britt understood the risks – and he saw that she did. Jason didn’t want Britt to feel like she had to sneak around, so he suggested she could hold the phone and let him ask for it from now on.

Britt called Maxie, who had to pretend she was talking to “Trish” from James West’s (Curtis and Owen Rufca) music class since Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was in the room. Maxie essentially had to speak in code, but she made it clear that she’d figure things out while Britt was gone.

After Maxie hung up, she continued a conversation with Peter about a babymoon spa experience at Whispering Pines – a women’s only spa out of town. Peter wanted “Chloe Jennings” (Kimberly J. Brown) to go with Maxie, but she resisted the idea at first.

However, Maxie ultimately pretended to see things Peter’s way – and then she scheduled a bunch of spa activities for “Chloe” once Peter was gone. Maxie felt like “Chloe” would be so “blissed out” that she wouldn’t even notice Maxie was gone.

Back with Britt, she was pleased when Jason said they could stay put for a couple days or maybe longer. Jason then suggested it’d be long enough for Britt to see a doctor about those hand tremors.

Britt fought against the idea since fugitives should avoid places that keep records, but Jason thought her fake passport would hold up. After Britt confessed to being scared, Jason insisted he’d be there for Britt despite the risks.

At the Corinthos compound, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) suggested she had a way to exonerate Jason, so Diane Miller (Carolyn Henessy) pushed her to spill it.

Carly made sure this was protected under attorney-client privilege before revealing that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was pregnant by Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor).

Diane was confused about how this would help, but Carly thought the info could be used to convince Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) to tell the cops she lied and that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) incentivized her deception.

Carly suggested Gladys would want Cyrus locked up since he was into Sasha and could kill his younger driver for scoring the trophy instead of him.

However, Carly felt bad to betray Sasha’s confidence and acknowledged that the secret was deeply personal as well as none of her business.

Carly hinted about another possible strategy to try first, but Diane pointed out that Carly would have to make tough choices like Sonny did. Before Diane left, she urged Carly not to let sentiment get in the way.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) freaked when Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) inadvertently wandered in her bedroom. Valentin was wearing only a towel and a look of astonishment according to Olivia!

She complained to the gang downstairs and found out Valentin had moved in along with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) explained before giving Valentin and Yuri the slip once again. Once alone, Brook Lynn called a friend and insisted her family was driving her crazy.

Maxie noted that she could use some R&R and got confirmation that her friend would lie about Brook Lynn being there if her family called.

In Corinth, Nina marveled over how different the once quaint town was compared to the pics online. All the mom-and-pop stores had closed thanks to the strip mall – and Sonny though the whole place screamed corruption.

Nina and Sonny wound up in a park that had seen better days. They talked to a woman named Barb who admitted things hadn’t been the same since the crime rate spiked five years ago.

Barb suggested that all the vandalism and robberies scared people from shopping – then businesses started closing their doors and sold their lots. They didn’t know they’d be turned into a strip mall.

Sonny realized the same thing was already happening in Nixon Falls and had happened plenty of other places. Nina thought THAT was the real story, not some fluff piece to boost tourism.

“It’s about how Elijah is using the specter of crime to drive up real estate prices and sell the souls of these sweet little towns,” Nina said – and she suggested she could write the exposé herself.

Afterward, Sonny saw a guy he thought he knew. He flashed back to the robbery at The Tan-O and realized it was the thug he got the upper hand on.

At GH, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) broke the news to Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) about Sean Donely’s (John Reilly) death. When Anna suggested she couldn’t leave for the funeral in Ireland, Robert wondered what could be more important.

Finn pulled Anna aside to convince her that she’d regret it if she didn’t attend and say goodbye to her friend.

Anna made her way to the Quartermaine mansion with Robert since they wanted to give Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charlieson) updates. After Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) comforted Anna over the loss, he vowed to handle the Peter and Chase situation while she was gone.

Next, Finn found Chase looking at his hospital bill so far. Chase was upset over how costly it was, but Finn insisted he would cover it. Chase fired back that he could pay his own way, but Finn blurted out that he would pay for it because it was his fault.

Just as Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) arrived, Chase shouted about checking himself out – and Finn declared that Chase couldn’t leave because his life depended on it.

General Hospital spoilers say Chase won’t rest until he gets some firm answers, so keep watching ABC’s GH! CDL will have other fantastic General Hospital spoilers, updates and news for you, so drop by regularly.
