The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, May 24, reveals that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) stopped Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) from going to the police, but Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) insisted her husband must come clean!
At the cabin on Monday’s B&B episode, Hope put all the blame on Bill since he was behind the cover-up. She argued that Liam had an accident, but Bill was the one who turned it into a crime.
Liam still felt he had some responsibility in what happened since he was behind the wheel, but Hope pointed out that Bill didn’t call 911 and made that decision for both of them. She insisted that was all on Liam’s dad.
Liam admitted he was long gone from the crash site when he woke up after passing out. He tried hard to convince Bill to go back, but Bill refused.
Liam confessed that Bill had already gotten rid of Vinny Walker’s (Joe LoCocero) wallet and cell phone by then, which left Hope even more furious. Hope wondered if Bill realized he was just making this worse!
Liam explained that Bill thought no judge and jury would believe it was a coincidence. Bill felt like it’d look like Liam was getting revenge over the paternity test tampering.
Hope scoffed over Bill thinking he was protecting Liam. “Does he realize that what he did could potentially destroy the rest of your life?” Hope asked angrily.
At Spencer Publications, Bill ranted to Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) about how Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) belonged in jail. Wyatt couldn’t disagree with that, but he didn’t get why Thomas was trying to get sympathy from Bill because someone killed his best friend.
Bill had nothing but bad things to say about Vinny and wasn’t keen on continuing this conversation any further. However, Wyatt kept at it and noticed Bill’s blood seemed to boil at every mention of Vinny.
Wyatt eventually realized Bill’s tension with Liam may be related to Vinny as well, but Bill tried to dodge all Wyatt’s questions and concerns.
After Wyatt tried to talk about something else, Bill was deep in thought over all the Vinny drama. He declared that he had something to take care of and bolted out the door – leaving Wyatt to call out after him looking confused.
Later, Wyatt gave Flo Logan (Katrina Bowden) updates on his weird encounter with Bill. He told her how wound up Bill was about Vinny, so Flo realized Wyatt meant the man who was the hit-and-run victim.
Back at the cabin, Liam understood that it was hard for Hope to accept. He really did think Bill was trying to protect him and added that Bill claimed to have taken care of all the evidence. The fact that the police haven’t found any leads only made Liam feel worse.
Liam worried that he could lose his family after just getting them back. Hope assured Liam that he was a good man and that was why he was feeling so tortured over what happened.
Hope suggested they both knew what needed to be done. “I think it’s time. The truth needs to come out,” Hope said.
Hope felt Liam would’ve gotten Vinny help if he hadn’t passed out. Liam felt guilty for not coming forward to the cops afterward, so Hope acknowledged that both Bill and Liam were probably in trouble with the law.
Even so, Hope warned that Liam couldn’t keep running. She insisted that they had to make the authorities understand – and it had to start with Liam clearing his conscience.
Liam got choked up at the thought of not seeing Hope and the kids every day for the rest of his life. He felt it was what he deserved, but Hope didn’t think so since it was an accident.
Hope knew Liam was scared and admitted she was scared, too. She still felt Liam had to take his story to the cops – and Liam agreed.
Hope promised to go with Liam just before Bill appeared. Bill quickly realized that Hope knew the truth, so she lashed out over the cover-up.
When Bill insisted he was protecting his son, Hope fired back that she was protecting her husband. She felt like Bill needed to acknowledge what the guilt was doing to Liam.
Liam said this was over and revealed his plans to go to the police, but Bill made it clear that wasn’t happening.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Bill warned. “I’m sure as hell not letting you go to the police. You’re not going to say a word to anyone else. Do you hear me? Never!”
