The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 3, reveal that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) were waiting anxiously at the cabin, when Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) called from the cliff house to say that the paternity test had been done and that they wouldn’t have any answers for a while.
Liam disconnected from the call just as Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) walked into the cabin and heard that Steffy had taken the test. Thomas said that he wasn’t enjoying this and that he was just concerned about Steffy and the baby, and about Hope.
“I’m here for both of you if you need anything at all,” Thomas said. Turning to Hope, Thomas said that she and Liam could make it through this no matter what the paternity test showed, then he left.
Hope noted that Thomas wasn’t using the situation to undermine their marriage. Liam said that he was more concerned about what Hope was thinking and her forgiveness.
Hope said that she was praying that the baby was John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan). Liam said that he would earn Hope’s trust back, and that if she was open to forgiving him, then he’d prove how much she means to him – because he loves her and always will.
Up at the main house, Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) dropped by to see Thomas. Vinny almost immediately offered Thomas some prescription grade pills that he was carrying around in his pocket, but Thomas flatly refused.
Thomas then shared that Steffy was pregnant and that the baby was either Finn’s or Liam’s.
Off-screen, Thomas told Vinny the whole story about the mannequin and the mistaken identity, then he said that Steffy got a paternity test today. Vinny mused, “If Steffy has Liam’s kid, Hope could actually be yours…depending on how the paternity test goes, of course.”
At the cliff house, Steffy was alone when Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) walked in. “I know what you did to my daughter,” Brooke fumed.
Steffy insisted that she didn’t intend to hurt Hope. “Maybe you want to take Liam from Hope,” Brooke taunted, but Steffy said that wasn’t true.
Brooke ranted that Steffy could have encouraged Liam to talk to Hope that night, but instead she gave him drinks and consoled him. Steffy said that she believed that her baby was Finn’s, and she asked Brooke not to tell Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) about her pregnancy, since she wanted to tell him herself.
Brooke said that she could see that this was difficult for Steffy, and Steffy said that she wasn’t going to let it overwhelm her since there was a child she needed to take care of. “I’m not trying to add stress,” Brooke said, “But do you expect me to stay silent?” Brooke asked.
“I’d expect some understanding coming from the woman who…” Steffy started, then caught herself and stopped talking. Brooke rolled her eyes, then said that she’d go, but that the baby had better be Finn’s and not Liam’s.
Backstage at Forrester Creations, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) and Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) talked about how Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) was on his mind.
Zende lamented that Zoe and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) could be over, which would be a waste.
Zende said that Zoe was now fully committed to Carter, but that Carter deserved better. “You deserve better, too,” Zende said to Paris. “If you haven’t written me off, I’ll show you what better can be.” Paris smiled.
In the CEO office, Carter got increasingly agitated, and he asked Zoe why she wanted him. Zoe said that Carter was kind, and Carter fired back that she meant he was gullible.
“Is it me you want or Zende?” Zoe tried to play dumb, but Carter revealed that Ridge told him what had happened. Zoe said she could explain.
Carter was peeved, saying that if Zende hadn’t turned her down, then something would have happened. Zoe stayed silent, then she said that she knew it was inappropriate, but that she wanted a life with Carter.
When Zoe referenced everything Carter had accomplished, Carter exploded, saying that she wasn’t even interested in him until he got his promotion.
“I’m Forrester adjacent!” Carter fumed. “Be honest, you never wanted me. What you really want is to be a Forrester!” Zoe insisted that wasn’t true, but Carter wasn’t having it, and he said that Zoe could have Zende. “The engagement is off. We’re not getting married. We’re done,” Carter fumed.
Zoe started crying, begging Carter to reconsider, but Carter wouldn’t give in, saying that Zoe was the one who gave up on them. “Take off the ring,” Carter said pointedly. Zoe then stammered that she had just got scared because things were moving so fast, and she said that she wasn’t scared anymore.
“It’s over with Zende, that’s my promise to you,” Zoe begged. “I want a life with you and only you. Tell me you still want that.” Carter just glared.
