The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, June 16, reveals that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) made a fill-in daddy promise – and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was shaken after a crushing Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) visit. Here’s how things played out on Wednesday’s B&B episode.
At Forrester Creations, Finn informed Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) that Steffy had gone to visit Liam in jail. Ridge ranted about Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) cover-up, but Finn pointed out that Liam went along with it and that choice had ramifications for their whole blended family.
Although Finn would never try to replace Liam as Kelly Spencer’s (Avalon and Collette Gray) father, he assured Ridge that he loved Kelly like she was his own and vowed to be there for her along with Steffy.
Ridge was glad to hear that and encouraged Finn to enjoy the excitement of looking forward to his baby boy, too.
In lockup, Liam hated for Steffy to see him like this. He insisted he would find a way to keep his promise to be there for Kelly since the thought of not watching her grow up made him sick.
Steffy blamed Bill, but Liam argued that he went along with his father’s idea. However, Steffy cried over the whole situation and felt they had to figure this out.
Talk turned to how supportive Hope had been and how Liam had asked Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) to pitch in with the “Lope” fam.
Steffy was surprised considering how Liam felt about Thomas, but Liam was doing what he needed to do for Hope and the kids. The guard came to quickly hustle Steffy out, so their conversation was cut short.
At the cabin, Thomas was adamant about doing what Liam asked and being there for Hope as well as the kids. Hope felt like none of this should be happening. She insisted Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) should be alive and Liam should be home with his family.
Hope worried about what she would tell the children since she couldn’t keep making excused for Liam’s absence indefinitely. Thomas knew he wasn’t Liam and wasn’t trying to fill his shoes or take his place. That said, Thomas wanted to make sure Hope knew she wasn’t alone.
Steffy made it back to Spencer Publications, but she was shaken up following her visit with Liam. She was concerned about what would happen to the family, but Finn reassured her.
When Thomas appeared, they all talked about Liam asking him to be there for Hope and the kids. Steffy felt that showed how much Liam loved Hope and insisted he was determined to get back to her.
Hope stopped by to see Liam again in lockup next, so they addressed the kids’ confusion. Hope also needed Liam to believe that he would come home to his family.
Liam wasn’t giving up, but he was trying to be realistic and honest with himself as well as his family. They discussed Liam’s request to Thomas, but Hope wanted to focus on getting the police to believe the truth.
Liam grew upset over how they were just getting back on track before this happened. He felt he was squandering his second chance, but he knew Hope was right – that he had to fight a way out of there since they were meant to be together.
Liam argued that no freak accident, prison bars or anything else should ever keep them apart.
