The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will receive a sad update on his condition and seek Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) second opinion as a frantic last resort. Ashland was on top of the world after marrying Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle), but he’s about to face the harsh reality of his terminal cancer.
Y&R fans know Ashland was diagnosed with small-cell lung carcinoma and revealed he only had six months to live. That was back in June, but Ashland ultimately fell hard for Victoria and decided to fight for their future.
Ashland knows he’s merely buying time, but he wants as much of it as he can get – and that means enduring chemotherapy treatments to prolong his life.
Unfortunately, it looks like Ashland’s going to get some difficult news regarding his condition during the week of October 25-29.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say a doctor’s appointment will bring some updates – and Ashland will turn to Nate for a second opinion on the matter in the aftermath.
Of course, Ashland wouldn’t need to seek a second opinion if the news was good! He would just keep doing what he’s doing and trust that it was working.
The fact that Ashland will be desperate to seek out another doctor and inquire about an alternative treatment plan spells trouble.
That seemingly means Ashland’s chemo won’t be working as well as he might’ve hoped.
However, Ashland will keep a promise made to Victoria in the October 20 episode. He’ll look into new and stronger courses of action when it comes to his treatment possibilities.
Ashland has plenty of money and can perhaps buy his way into some experimental trials if need be.
Sadly, Nate hasn’t been all that optimistic about Ashland’s prognosis – and he may be even less hopeful once this bad news hits.
Since the chemo apparently won’t be working, Nate may suggest Ashland should focus on making the most of the time he has left with Victoria.
That might be better than wasting time looking into other treatment options that’ll only extend Ashland’s life by a negligible amount.
Nate won’t want to see Ashland put himself through some grueling trial only to end up suffering more in the long run. Will Nate convince Ashland to accept what he can’t change?
