Jason shows up to see Jamie, he tells him that he doesn’t see him around the neighborhood anymore, but he doesn’t get robbed anymore since Jamie caught the gang bangers that were breaking into his store. Then he tells Jamie that he screwed up, he owes his bookie 23 grand, the bookie is Terry T, he works out of McCallister bar. Jamie tells him that he definitely screwed up.

Danny and Baez are walking down the street and he is talking about the biggest shipment of drugs landing in the city in 72 hours and the feds want to take over the investigation and he is frustrated. They bump into Ranger Gates who says he is Major Gates now. He talks about the shipment and he is fixing to make sure it doesn’t hit the streets. He says he needs someone to ride with and asks Danny if he wants to go with him.

In the truck, they talk about the shipment, Danny says he has an informant that can help, they decide to pay him a visit.

Jamie goes with Jason to meet the bookie, it is former sergeant Coolie, Jamie is surprised to see that it is him. Jamie says he is there on business, Jason said he threatened him regarding a gambling debt. Coolie laughs it off and says he didn’t do it.

Frank calls officer Zeale to his office, he asks him who started the fight. Zeale says he was giving loyalty and support for his fellow officers. He lost his temper because he thinks he should stand up for his brother. Frank tells him that he would expect better judgement for one of his officers, and he owes Sauter an apology.

Frank goes to see his informant Rudy, he cuffs him and throws him into the vehicle, introduces him to Major Gates. Frank asks Rudy about the shipment coming in from the cartel. Rudy says he can get real jammed up for talking about this, he wants to be left out of the cartel business. Major Gates pulls out some money and asks Rudy if that jogs his memory, Rudy tells them it is going down tonight.

Eddie asked around about Sargent Coolie and Teddy T is for sure taking bets out of that bar and Coolie is definitely taking bets and leaning on people when they can’t pay.

Frank goes to see the mayor and he tells him to let sleeping dogs lie where the bar fight is concerned. Frank says he is recommending officer Zeale to be suspended for his actions. Mayor says it is yesterday’s news, nobody wants to hear fewer cops. Frank says is it is unacceptable for a fellow cop to attack another. Mayor says the people want to have more cops, not less. The mayor asks whose side Frank is on. Frank tells him to stop micro managing a business that he wouldn’t even know how to turn the lights on for in the morning.

Danny is with Major Gates, they found the driver of the truck with the cartel drugs, the truck has been picked clean but Gates says they should both go and talk to that driver.

Jamie has Coolie in the station, he tells him that he has been named on a few intel reports making collections for Teddy T. Jamie tells him it is illegal, there are other jobs and it is just a matter of time before he gets jammed up. Coolie says he will take his chances.

Danny and Gates are questioning the guy, he says he doesn’t know what was in the truck. Danny shows him a photo of him and some other guys unloading the boxes. The guy says he gets paid six grand to drive a truck, nothing more. The man says he is not crossing the cartel, they are animals and he is not going out that way.

Sid calls Jamie to his office, he says he has an intel report regarding Teddy T and named Coolie. Sid says he has a ton of respect for Coolie, his wife is sick and the place she is in cost big bucks. Sid tells Jamie that he is a lucky cop, he got a lot of big breaks and he should think about that before that report enters the system.

Danny meets Gates at a café, he is upset with him. The dead cartel guys, one of them had the same tattoo as the guys who killed his Gates’ partner. Danny says he is there to take out the person who took out his partner. Gates says he is there to stop a drug ship, two birds with one shot.

Gates tells Danny that he should have told him about his partner, he is sorry, he promised that he would kill the bastard who killed him. Danny says it is not the time. Gates tells Danny to go home for Sunday dinner, he will work on the case.

Gates gets a call, he gets a lead on the cartel guy, Lopez, that he was looking for. Gates is under a bridge holding his gun when the guy comes behind him and grabs his gun and threatens to cut him up like he did to his partner. All of a sudden, Danny is there, he put a gps on Gates because he doesn’t trust. Danny handcuffs Lopez and Gates wants to go after him but Danny says no, not like this.

Danny has Lopez in the station and tells him he needs an address and he is running out of time. Gates brings in some of Lopez’ drugs and tells him that if doesn’t tell them where the shipment is he is going to sample some of his own drugs. Lopez ends up giving up the address. Gates says when he gets back he is going to take him down to Texas, they know how to deal with boys like him.

Sid goes to Jamie and tells him he is upset that he didn’t take Coolie’s name out of the report. Jamie says he has to do the right thing.

Danny and Gates, along with other officers head to the address which is the basement of a school. Gunshots go off, one officer is shot, but the cartel is taken down.

Jamie goes to see Coolie who is not happy with him. Coolie says he put a scare in his guy but he didn’t hurt him, he knows where the line is and he is lucky it wasn’t another guy because he could have gotten a serious beating. Jamie gives him an envelope of cash for his wife’s expenses, he will do anything he can to help him out. Coolie refuses it, but tells Jamie he could stop by for a beer once in a while.

Frank is back in the mayor’s office, he says twenty five years ago he would have told him to step outside. The mayor says this could have gone away quietly. The mayor asks Frank if his self-riteousness comes off naturally. Frank says working by the book is the only way to keep all the cops in line and that is all he cares about.

THE END!
