General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, January 17, teases that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) new enemy will rise while a Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) protection plan fails. Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) mob past will also haunt, so here’s what GH fans can expect.
First, Marshall won’t think it’s too late for Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) to follow her dreams.
Epiphany’s work at the hospital is certainly fulfilling, but Marshall will think there’s another part of her that longs for a singing career.
Marshall will feel like they can make beautiful music together and could grow closer to Epiphany through their upcoming scenes.
Although Marshall said he wasn’t interested in dating, maybe he’ll change his tune down the road.
In the meantime, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will let Laura Collins (Genie Francis) know he’s sorry about Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) passing before talk turns to his father.
After Curtis admits his father got mixed up with some dangerous people and went off the grid, Laura will be able to relate.
Laura will reflect on her own situation at the safe house recently. She felt like leaving her family was the only way to keep them safe, so she’ll get why Marshall did what he did.
Laura will also think Curtis may have to face a truth he’s not ready to accept yet. No matter how much Marshall hurt Curtis, he did it out of love.
That’ll indeed be a tough pill for Curtis to swallow as he tries to decide whether he’s ready to welcome Marshall back into his life.
Laura will quiz Curtis about whether he’s prepared to do that, so he’ll have to mull over this big decision and figure out if he can let go of all the anger.
Speaking of anger, there’s been tons of that in the Corinthos household recently.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had a heated showdown with Sonny, who’s off his meds and even more inclined to have explosive moments. Although Michael doesn’t realize Sonny’s lack of lithium situation, he knows the fight between his parents could go on for a while.
Michael will share his perspective with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who’ll offer one as well.
Perhaps Drew will remind Michael that Sonny and Carly have faced unimaginable challenges that no one should ever have to go through.
Drew may think both Carly and Sonny need love, patience and understanding to help them get through such a tough ordeal.
Whatever the case, Drew will offer his two cents and let Michael decide what to do with it.
Other GH spoilers say Carly will sit down for a legal meeting with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).
There’ll be some step Carly wants to take, so she’ll meet with Diane to lock in the details.
Could this involve a lawsuit or restraining order against Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)? If there’s another way to stick it to Nina, you can bet Carly will find it!
Carly has made some vengeful promises when it comes to Nina, so she’ll certainly plan to keep her word.
At Crimson, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will acknowledge that Nina can influence Sonny and will want her to put that power to good use.
Sonny could perhaps talk Selina Wu (Lydia Look) into loosening her grip on Brad, but Nina won’t think she’s in the position to pull strings.
Not to mention Sonny hates Brad, so why would he want to do him any favors? Nina will think Britt needs to find another solution, but she’ll be stuck on this one.
Britt will call the Corinthos house and discover that Carly is now staying at the Metro Court.
Britt will offer updates to Nina, who’ll assume Carly’s going to launch another fierce faceoff soon.
Nina would certainly love to have a future with Sonny, but she’s trying not to get her hopes up. She doesn’t want to be a homewrecker if Sonny wants to stick to his marriage.
Britt won’t think Nina can wreck a home if there’s no longer one left.
Britt will be hopeful about Nina’s chances with Sonny and may make another pitch for Brad’s sake, but Britt should be on her own when it comes to handling Selina.
As for Brick (Stephen A. Smith), he’ll be apologetic for derailing Sonny’s day.
Brick will acknowledge that he’s seemingly interrupted something, but he’ll admit there’s a good reason why.
Brick will deliver news of a new threat that’s on the horizon, so there could be a mysterious mob boss plotting a move.
Did trouble follow Marshall to Port Charles? Will that trouble trickle over into Sonny’s territory and bring some shocking moves?
