General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) may be gearing up for a mob marriage future. Will Sonny need the stability of a wife for the conflict ahead?
It’s interesting that the show is dragging Nina into the mob drama a bit more.
Nina was caught up in that robbery at Charlie’s Pub, but she didn’t seem all that rattled all things considered.
We even saw Nina grab a dropped gun during that showdown, so she knows how to handle herself pretty well.
Of course, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) later commented on Nina falling for the other side of Sonny.
Everyone knows that Nina fell for “Mike” the bartender, but now Nina has fallen for Sonny the mob boss, too.
Ava acted like Nina couldn’t resist a bad boy any more than Ava herself could – and perhaps she’s right!
There’s a certain appeal to dating someone with an edge.
Nina also pointed out to Sonny that he didn’t have to hide anything from her.
Nina acknowledged that things might’ve been different with Carly, but Nina’s learning to like every part of Sonny – even the dangerous parts.
Nina doesn’t want Sonny to do anything detrimental to his health like drinking too much on his meds, but she seems OK with the mob life and all the chaos it brings.
It’s good that Nina can accept Sonny’s risky lifestyle since she clearly wants a permanent spot in it.
GH fans know there have been hints about a threat from the West Coast that’ll ultimately hit Port Charles.
Victor Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is also predicting doom and gloom for PC, so that could affect Sonny’s organization.
Even Selina Wu (Lydia Look) herself seems untrustworthy since she’s constantly pushing for new deals and making bold moves.
The mob mayhem will inevitably blow up in a big way since there are just so many opportunities for trouble.
Once that trouble strikes, Sonny might think he needs to marry and have a mob queen who can stand right beside him.
It creates an image that a bachelor floating through life doesn’t bring to the table.
Could that give Sonny and Nina a reason to rush into a marriage?
We’re not saying it’s going to happen right away, but it’s reasonable to think Sonny might put a ring on it sooner than expected due to the mob chaos that’s brewing.
If Sonny perhaps marries Nina by the end of the year, that’d still be a fast marriage – one Carly and the Corinthos clan certainly wouldn’t be happy about.
