General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, May 24 Recap – Liz’s Emotional Goodbye – Sonny’s Last-Minute Court Save for Nina

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 24, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) said an emotional goodbye to her loved ones while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) made a last-minute court save for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

For starters, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) tried to rope Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) into Plan B, which involved shadowing Linc Brown (Dan Buran). Chase refused to get caught up in Brook Lynn’s scheme of blackmail and entrapment, but she was desperate since these songs were her babies.

That led to Chase realizing that Brook Lynn was still dealing Bailey Louise Jones (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) issues, but Brook Lynn tried to keep the focus on the songs she wanted back. Since Chase wasn’t willing to help, Brook Lynn said she’d do it herself and left in a huff.

In the courtroom, Nina was grateful for Sonny’s support, but she didn’t think he should stick around due to his fragile relationship with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

Sonny stuck around anyway, but Nina warned Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) not to put him on the stand. Once court was in session, Nina took the stand and made a speech about her love for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver), who was all she had left of her deceased daughter.

Scott called attention to Wiley’s other grandmothers, so Nina talked about how Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) recently passed away. That led to Scott bringing up Harmony’s crimes and how she had been allowed to see Wiley.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) ripped Nina to shreds once it was her turn for questions. There was talk about how Nina was in a coma and wouldn’t have been able to raise Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) anyway.

Diane felt Nina had a delusion fantasy regarding Nelle and felt this petition for visitation was an act of revenge – not something to benefit Wiley. Next, Diane brought up Nina’s Nixon Falls lies and how she kept Sonny from his family, including Wiley.

Nina acted like everyone’s lied before and just wanted a chance to prove herself. However, Diane felt that Nina had already thrown her chance away.

Michael and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) were feeling very confident at that point, but Sonny pushed Scott to put him on the stand. Nina was against the idea, but Scott listened to Sonny and called him up.

In the park, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) showed up with Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and threw a frisbee that hit Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). That led to Alexis joking about how it’s a good thing she’s no longer a lawyer or else she might sue.

Gregory talked to Alexis about how he was a reader of The Invader – but not a fan. Alexis was offended, but Gregory argued that attempting to mix titillation with the truth accomplished neither.

Violet eventually interrupted to call her grandpa out for not playing nice. Gregory apologized to Alexis, but he refused to retract his criticism.

That led to Alexis urging Gregory to submit his opinion for publication unless he was afraid to hear back from readers. The whole interaction seemed to leave Alexis annoyed, intrigued and amused all at once.

At GH, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) was upset over the idea of sending Liz away. Liz got Laura Collins (Genie Francis) to back her up – and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) suggested Liz could stay at Shadybrook before transitioning to outpatient care.

Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) didn’t like this plan, but he was willing to support Liz and wanted to visit her during her stint. Liz had to do this alone since something deep inside might be threatened by her feelings for Finn.

Although Liz and Finn were going to miss each other, they talked about how it’d hopefully just be for a few weeks. Cameron assured Liz that he’d keep his brothers in line and embraced his mom. Violet also showed up to get a goodbye hug before Liz boarded the elevator and headed for Shadybrook.

In Brooklyn, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was emotional at the hospital, where he suggested he wanted a fresh start with Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) – no strings attached.

TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) joined Curtis and Marshall before Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) arrived after getting updates from Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). Stella urged Marshall to grab onto this chance with both hands and cleared out with the others for Marshall’s medical exam.

Once Stella found out about the antipsychotic medication TJ found, she acknowledged that she knew about it. Stella didn’t think it was her story to tell, but Marshall was wheeled out for more tests and saw the pill bottle.

Marshall mentioned how there were a lot of things he hadn’t been honest about and seemed ready to spill. There was talk about Marshall being released soon, so he was eager to go home with his family.
