In tonight’s I am Shauna Rae episode, Shauna’s older sister Tara is getting married. As she was planning the wedding, Shauna and their other sister Rylee have been planning the bachelorette party. They wanted to make it as raunchy as possible. They wanted Tara to be uncomfortable. They knew that Tara really wanted a tame bachelorette party. Tara was conservative and so they were going into an opposite direction as more of a shock and awe.
Its why they grabbed a genital pinata. They knew Tara was never going to beat a version of male genitalia to get candy from inside. But they bought they bought it anyways as a means of ticking off their sister and that was their whole plan. Shauna and Tara get on like oil and water.
They just couldn’t see eye to eye. Shauna was much closer to her younger sister Rylee and the two later traveled alone together. Before then, they had never traveled without their parents. The parents don’t even want Shauna traveling on public transportation by herself. Shauna’s condition tends to mean people don’t see her as an adult.
She got that in the sex shop when she was buying bachelorette stuff and the employee there asked her and her sister for identification. He did so because apparently some of the other customers have felt concerned that a child was in the store. They looked at Shauna and they instantly got involved in her business when it was none of theirs.
The incident at the store wasn’t the first time that Shauna was asked for ID. She gets asked that several times and she has anxiety about traveling alone because she’s constantly worried someone might call the authorities if they think a kid is traveling by itself. Shauna therefore tends to stick with her parents on most trips.
She was only willing to change that by going with Rylee because she at least won’t get harassed if she’s traveling with someone who looks like an adult. The two of them went to Pennsylvania for the bachelorette party. They decorated the hotel room with a bunch of stuff they got at the sex shop.
They also went to a pole dancing class. They got to learn a whole routine. Tara was given the choice of participating or sitting it out and she chose to sit it out. She did make it rain however when the others danced for her. Tara was having fun with her friends and her sisters while back at home their parents were getting a taste of what it’s like to be empty nesters.
It was the first time for them that they could spend time with just the two of them and it was a new experience. They had steak and lobster. Someone complained about the price of the meal. The other tried to make it romantic and of course they discussed their children.
They discussed what it was really like to be empty nesters. They were worried about the girls trip because they knew that Tara and Shauna have had issues in the past and they didn’t want that to happen again on the trip. It turns out they were right to be concerned because the sisters did butt heads. At first, everything was going well. The bachelorette party went off without a hitch. They had fun with the many games.
Tara even enjoyed all the gifts she received. She didn’t mind the level of raunchiness and so the problems cropped up after the bachelorette party. Everyone over drinking age had gone out to a bar. And that’s where Shauna and Tara butt heads.
Shauna felt self-conscious about being at a bar. She knew that people were judging her and that made her uncomfortable in that environment. It also didn’t help that Tara kept wanting Shauna to drink. Shauna doesn’t like publicly drinking because she’s afraid of the judgement from others.
Tara knew this and yet she was unsympathetic. She kept asking Shauna to drink. She ordered a huge drink that they could all share and it was so high that Shauna couldn’t reach it. Shauna was left uncomfortable by the whole experience. She managed to snap at her sister several times. Not that Tara took it personally.
Tara believes they butt heads because Shauna wants someone to feel sorry for her and Tara just won’t do that.
The whole bachelorette party group went out to brunch the next day and she did a questionnaire with some drag queens and it was fun. It help erased the night before where Shauna felt constantly judged.
