The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, May 23, teases that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pushed for a memorial service, but John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was revealed to be alive and in Li Finnegan’s (Naomi Matsuda) care.
At the cabin, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) talked to Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) about how tough it was breaking the news of Finn’s “death” to the kids. Although Liam wanted to go check on Steffy, he assured Hope that he wasn’t taking his wife or their family for granted.
Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) showed up as Liam was leaving and found out from Hope that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) was the shooter. After Bill got updates on Finn diving in front of a bullet meant for Steffy, he understood why Liam was worried.
Bill suggested Hope should think of it as Liam being on loan for a bit. Although Bill felt confident Steffy would come back better than ever, she needed a little extra support in the meantime.
At the cliff house, Steffy and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) discussed how things had gone when the kids heard about Finn’s “death.” There was also talk about the memorial service, but Steffy wanted Li to be involved with everything.
Taylor admitted she already summoned Li so they could give her the latest details about Sheila. Steffy mentioned how Li basically took on all the end-of-life details and disappeared. Finn was supposedly cremated before Steffy could see him one last time.
After Li showed up on Monday’s B&B episode, she sat down with Steffy and Taylor to discuss Finn’s murder. Steffy explained that her memory came back before revealing Sheila as Finn’s killer.
Li flew into a rage before Steffy recapped the whole story – including how Finn saved her life. That didn’t surprise Li since Finn was such a loving protector.
Li ranted about Sheila upending Finn’s whole world and said she’d do anything to have her son back.
When Steffy brought up the memorial service, Li argued that it didn’t have to be right now. Steffy inquired about scattering Finn’s ashes, but Li said she’d take care of everything when it came to her son and left.
Steffy thought Li was acting super strange, so she conveyed the weird vibe she got to Taylor.
Soon after, Liam came over to see how Steffy was doing after filling Li in. Steffy wasn’t sure how to move on and wasn’t sure she could figure it out this time.
Liam thought it might be healthy to ask what Finn would want, so Steffy admitted that he’d want her to go on and have the best life. Steffy cried since she wasn’t sure she could do that, but Liam gave her a pep talk.
After Steffy said Finn was gone and never coming back, she leaned into Liam’s embrace. Meanwhile, Li had comatose Finn stashed in a bed hooked up to all the appropriate medical equipment.
Li mentioned that it was a cold, cruel world. Although Li thought maybe Finn was better off where he was, she couldn’t give up as long as there was a chance for him. Li wiped Finn’s brow as she continued to fight for her son’s recovery.
