The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could use a new bad boy love interest. Is a Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) romance just what her character needs?
After Phyllis and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) reunion fell apart, she was hopeful about a new beginning with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Unfortunately, that reunion fell apart as well, so now Phyllis is single and fixated on driving Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) out of town.
Phyllis hasn’t had time to pursue any new romantic opportunities since she’s been throwing herself into work and this Diane takedown plot.
However, complicated love stories are at the heart of soaps, so Y&R writers really need to give one to Phyllis.
So far, Jack seems to have zero interest in reconnecting with Phyllis romantically. The show isn’t offering any temptation in that department at all.
Likewise, Nick is focused on Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and isn’t really even in Phyllis’ orbit much anymore.
In other words, a “Phack” or “Phick” reunion doesn’t seem likely at the moment.
If the show wants to give Phyllis a romance, they may have to choose someone new.
Jeremy Stark might be an intriguing option now that he’s scored a prison release and will soon land in Genoa City.
Phyllis made a remark about lonely Jeremy’s standards being low and tried to insult Diane by acting like he might want to reunite with her. It’d be an interesting twist if Phyllis genuinely fell for Jeremy instead.
There’d be a lot of dramatic potential in that happening, especially now that Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei) is back in town.
Daniel could become protective of Phyllis and try to warn her away from the ex-con.
The same goes for Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier), who certainly wouldn’t want Phyllis hooking up with a dangerous criminal.
It’d be easy for Phyllis to join forces with Jeremy for revenge on Diane – only to wind up falling for him in the process. Other than wanting Diane to pay, Jeremy might insist he’s a changed man.
Jack might suddenly become more interested in Phyllis if he fears she’s in the clutches of a scoundrel.
That would drive Diane crazy and could set up an intriguing new chapter of this story.
