The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could become Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) new obsession. Chelsea might latch onto another caring protector to replace Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), so let’s consider her recent interaction with Kyle.
Y&R fans know Chelsea wasn’t having the greatest mental health day when she blew up at Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at Society.
Adam was worried enough to talk to Chloe about his concerns and make sure Chelsea was OK for Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) sake.
Since Chelsea has gone off the rails before, it’s important to keep an eye on what’s going on with her.
Chelsea also had a major outburst in the park on the May 27 episode, which Kyle witnessed.
Kyle was quick to approach Chelsea and make sure she was all right – and from Chelsea’s perspective, his concern probably seemed far more genuine than Adam’s.
Chelsea lied about having an overreaction to work drama, but her scene with Kyle was certainly intriguing.
Why have Kyle in particular witness Chelsea’s meltdown and approach her about it? Y&R writers may be setting something up here.
This incident might become part of the equation once Jabot’s acquisition of Marchetti is complete and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) considering Chelsea as a new hire.
Summer already hinted about Chelsea’s talent being in demand, so she may move forward with her plan to bring Chelsea on board.
That could pave the way for Kyle to remember Chelsea was supposedly frustrated over work recently.
Kyle might encourage Summer to go for it since Chelsea seemed unhappy with her job – even if fans know that wasn’t the real reason for her outburst.
The truth is Chelsea’s dealing with grief over Rey, so this could turn into a story of how she fills that void.
Kyle came to Chelsea’s rescue in the park and could do it again by voicing his support for a new Marchetti position.
Could Chelsea latch onto that in her vulnerable mental state and start trying to cozy up to Summer’s husband?
Chelsea might be distraught enough over losing Rey to view Kyle as a replacement and think he can be a similar caring protector – someone authentic, helpful and kind.
That doesn’t mean Kyle would respond to any advances Chelsea might make, but her obsession with him could put any Marchetti job she lands at risk!
Tension could develop between Chelsea and Summer depending on how all this goes down, especially if Sally stirs the pot and warns Summer to watch her man around Chelsea.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea’s emotions will continue to be all over the place, so that could lead her to make some poor choices and wrong assumptions.
