The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, May 31 Recap – Sharon’s Heartbreaking Confession to Nick – Billy Surprises Diane

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 31, reveals that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will make a heartbreaking confession to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) surprises Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

In Diane’s suite on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, she’ll text Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about having lunch together, but he’ll be stuck in meetings.

Diane will consider sending Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) a message next, but she’ll ultimately head to Society alone.

At Crimson Lights, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will check in with Sharon and make sure she’s holding up OK following Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death.

When Sharon learns Chance is closing all Rey’s cases to pay tribute, she’ll seem touched.

Near the patio door, Nick will watch and listen during Chance’s conversation with Sharon.

Once Chance is gone, that’ll give Nick an opportunity to ask something that’s been on his mind.

Since it was the anniversary of Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) death a couple days ago, Nick will be concerned over Sharon not bringing it up.

They normally take flowers to Cassie’s grave and reminisce, but Nick didn’t want to push.

That said, Nick will worry that Sharon’s more affected than she’s letting on.

Sharon will confess that Cassie was the first thing she thought about that day, but she also woke up and saw Rey’s empty side of the bed.

It was all just too much, so Sharon had to compartmentalize and get through the day.

However, Sharon will be feeling strong enough to visit Cassie’s grave and honor their daughter now, so she’ll ask Nick to go with her.

Nick will take Sharon’s hand across the table as they share a tender moment.

Afterward, Sharon will thank Nick for once again getting her through another rough patch.

Nick will insist that’s what family is for and will pull Sharon into a warm embrace.

At home, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will return following an exhausting overnight shift.

Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will be heading off to work, but he’ll suggest a weekend date so they can carve out some time together.

Once Elena falls asleep on the sofa, she’ll dream that Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) is inviting Nate to join her upstairs in the shower.

Elena will shout that she’s right there before waking up startled.

Back at the coffeehouse, Imani will bump into Nate as he’s getting his morning espresso.

That’ll lead to Imani praising Nate for his forward-thinking ideas and acting like they’re on the same page – unlike Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) since they play it too safe.

After Nate leaves, Elena will show up and seem rattled at the sight of Imani due to her dream.

Imani will invite Elena to join her, so Elena will take her up on the offer.

At Devon and Amanda’s penthouse, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will drop off Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) for a few days.

Devon will later talk to Amanda about working from home before the commiserate about the complications of working with family.

Next, Devon will meet with Nate and Billy to work out more Chancellor-Winters launch party details.

That’ll spark some clashing regarding another one of Nate’s ideas, but Billy will help Devon and Nate reach a compromise.

At Crimson Lights again, Amanda will find Imani and Elena discussing the merger.

Once Amanda joins them, she’ll thank Elena for being so supportive over Naya Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) medical condition.

Once Elena takes off, Amanda will confront Imani and ask “what the hell” she thinks she’s doing.

There’ll be more concerns about Imani making moves on Nate, but she’ll swear that she’s just having fun and has no agenda.

At Society, Abby will lash out at Diane, who’ll ask her to put Kyle’s feelings ahead of her own.

Although Abby will agree to do that in Kyle’s presence, she’ll insist she’s going to be as hostile as she wants when only Diane is around.

Once Diane is seated at a table, Abby will glare at her nearby and rant to Billy once he arrives.

Billy will remind Abby that change is possible, but Abby will think he’s giving Diane more credit than she deserves.

When Billy approaches Diane’s table, she’ll assume she’s going to get more Abbott attitude. Billy will suggest he’s fresh out and ask if this seat is taken instead.

Although Billy won’t have forgotten what Diane did to his family, he’ll be more interested in what she does next.

Billy will be surprised when he gets updates on Kyle and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) possible move back to Genoa City, which could put Diane in town permanently.

Even so, Billy will note that his family knows where he stands. Since redemption was possible for Billy, he’ll think it’s possible for others.

Billy will assure Diane that he won’t change his tune unless she gives him a reason to.

Abby will look a bit unnerved by Billy playing nice with Diane, but she’ll shift her attention to Chance once he texts her to come outside.

Chance will plant a kiss and reveal there’s been a break in one of Rey’s cases, so Abby will be proud – and she’ll think Rey would be proud, too.

Once Amanda comes home, she’ll hear Devon talking to Dominic on the baby monitor.

Amanda will join her two favorite guys upstairs for a sweet moment together.

Back with Nate, he’ll head back to his penthouse and fill Elena in on the tension with Devon.

Elena will reassure Nate before he admits he feels guilty about something.

Nate will want to make things right and will talk about how he needs to be the one to work around her schedule.

Elena will feel like they both have to nurture their relationship and will think she can show her love in other ways, so they’ll get passionate on the sofa.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Elena and Nate will continue to face issues, so we’ll see if they can survive the storm that’s brewing.
