The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap review for the week of October 3-7 reveals that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) replaced Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) as a charming and dangerous town pariah.
After Ashland died, that left Y&R needing another morally gray character who could take his place.
Ashland went off the rails a bit at the end, but he was successful for most of his run by straddling the line between good and bad.
Now that Tucker is back in GC with Trevor St. John in the role, they’ve found the solution to their Ashland problem.
Tucker’s helicopter comeback set the tone for the kind of man he is and allowed him to interact with several key players right off the bat.
Of course, Tucker has one advantage that Ashland didn’t have.
Ashland was mostly isolated with the Newmans since he didn’t have a solid family tie on canvas.
Tucker is interwoven into almost everyone’s business and has lots of connections that’ll lead to trouble.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) certainly doesn’t want Tucker anywhere near Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) or Dominic Newman-Winters-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware), but Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) felt she was overreacting.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) intends to set up a chance for Tucker to meet his grandson, so there’s a lot of dramatic potential here.
Abby’s marriage and co-parenting arrangement may take a hit with Tucker’s back in the mix.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) also closed in on the truth about Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), who’s obviously Tucker’s mole at Chancellor-Winters.
Audra happens to be Noah Newman’s (Rory Gibson) ex as well – and let’s hope they remain in the former flame category.
Noah and Audra’s interactions were rather dull considering this is supposed to be the woman who shattered his heart.
It felt more like Noah was reuniting with an irritating coworker than some great love gone wrong.
However, Tucker’s link to Audra could certainly make a mess at Chancellor-Winters as time goes on.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is already stuck in a mess due to Tucker, but it’s only going to get worse once their own secret alliance is exposed.
Overall, Trevor St. John is doing a great job of putting his own spin on Tucker and has injected some new life into the show.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was Ashland’s weak spot and now Ashley is poised to be Tucker’s, so we’ll see how that works out for him.
We should also talk about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and how he’s treating Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Adam spoke to Nick brother-to-brother to see if he’d back off Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and give him a chance to reunite with her.
Instead, Nick asked Sally on a nightclub date and brazenly went after the woman he knows Adam still loves.
We get that the heart wants what it wants, but this isn’t a good look for Nick!
How do you feel about Trevor St. John in the role of Tucker McCall? Do you think Nick should back off Sally?
