General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, July 13, notes that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) had a heartfelt reunion, while newcomer Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) arrived in Port Charles, as the ABC soap celebrated its milestone 16,000th episode.
In fact, there were a ton of Easter eggs within the show where the number “16” was mentioned, which was fun for fans watching.
With that said, let’s dive right into all the drama.
The show opened with a man on an airplane heading to PC, who also happened to be perusing Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) “Travel Guide to Port Charles”.
In the end, it ended up being Tristan, and in an interesting twist, Jason was sitting next to him on the plane.
Jason looked serious and very different from the last time fans had seen him.
With his hair styled another way and significant weight loss, Jason clearly wasn’t himself.
In addition, Jason had flashbacks of his time in the Jakarta WSB prison and also had a nightmare of being beaten up by a guard.
During the flight, Tristan relayed to Jason that a car would be waiting for him once the plane landed.
It was clear that Tristan had been asked to accompany Jason back to Port Charles, but no reason was given.
Later on, Tristan was seen at the nurse’s station, and he introduced himself to Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
The good nurse welcomed the hospital’s new surgeon to General Hospital.
Speaking of Liz, she got involved in a little dispute between Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) while the two were in a hospital office.
Tracy was outraged that Laura nominated Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) as the newest hospital board member.
In fact, she reminded her that the mob boss had killed A.J. Quartermaine (last played by Sean Kanan).
Laura defended her friend and reminded Tracy that he recently helped bring down Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
Unfortunately, Sonny stepped in during their fight and decided to take his name out of the voting process.
As Sonny was exiting the hospital, Liz ran into him, and she found out what had happened.
The nurse went back to the office, with Sonny in tow, and defended all the good reasons why he should sit on the board.
From donations to the hospital to the support he gives during the Nurse’s Ball, and always sending food over to the staff on Fridays (anonymously) – Sonny would make a valuable member on the board.
Tracy then lamented and promised that she wouldn’t vote for him, but she also wouldn’t stop his nomination.
Sonny agreed to put his hat in the ring as a board member, and he and Tracy even shook hands when all was said and done.
On the other side of the hospital, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) ran into Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).
The two fought once again over Brennan luring Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) into the WSB.
With that said, Brennan noted that he did have feelings for Carly and regretted recruiting her daughter.
Although he also pointed out that his instincts about Joss making a stellar WSB agent were spot on, as she was key in bringing Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) down.
Brennan took a jab at Carly by apologizing to her for what he had done, and how she felt that she could only turn to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Carly jumped to Valentin’s defence, noting that he put his freedom on the line for Joss and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke), far more than Brennan had ever done.
This is when Brennan informed Carly that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was back in PC, which gently reminded her of her new boyfriend’s bond with the superspy.
Speaking of Anna and Valentin, the two caught up in her condo.
Valentin let her know that he was a free man and also confirmed to her that he knew she was held captive at Wyndemere.
Peter August (Wes Ramsey) popped up behind Valentin after he confirmed that Anna wasn’t delusional about her hostage situation, and the hallucination noted that Anna had been right all along.
While Valentin noticed that his ex was distracted by something behind him, she recovered by bringing up how Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) faked being Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
As Valentin departed, the two shared a long embrace.
Once he was gone, Peter appeared and warned Anna not to allow Valentin to distract her from her mission, to which Anna replied, “I know.”
Over at Bobbies, General Hospital recaps for the July 13 episode reveal that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) caught up after the doctor picked her up from the police station.
Everything was good and friendly until Britt headed to her room upstairs, noting she had hidden a key somewhere.
Unfortunately, Carly changed the locks, which caused Britt to have a meltdown. The incident triggered Lucas and Britt to start bickering.
This is when Lucas told her, “I liked you better when you thought you were dying,” and he walked away in a huff.
Over at the Q mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) picked up where they left off during the Friday, July 10 episode.
BLQ revealed how bad she felt every time Chase ran to Willow Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) side whenever she needed him.
Chase countered back, it was simply the right thing to do, and, unlike Brook Lynn, Willow’s never had the support of a large family.
BLQ noted that she needed him, especially now that they were growing their family, and Chase confessed that he never thought that helping Willow would affect their marriage.
He apologized for his actions, and BLQ said sorry for reverting to her “old ways”.
General Hospital recaps for Monday’s show note that BLQ did offer to tell the police that she attempted to frame Willow; however, Chase advised keeping it on the down low.
After all, tampering with evidence in Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) crash is illegal, and his wife could face charges.
They promised to stop hiding stuff from each other, but BLQ didn’t exactly adhere to this as she’s still keeping the fact that she was the other driver in Jordan’s accident (or so she thinks she is …)
Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) ran into Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) at the Metro Court Pool.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good run-in as Rocco made it clear he was still mad at his older brother for running to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) months ago.
Charlotte and Danny were there, as the blonde tried to smooth things over with her brother and friend, but that went nowhere, too.
The ‘brothers from different mothers’ got into a full-fledged fight as Danny was insistent that Rocco should’ve told the truth about Cullum’s shooting so the WSB would release his dad.
Danny stormed off, which is when Charlotte told Rocco she wished he had just told them the truth about the shooting sooner.
She also tried to show Rocco Danny’s side of things, that he was just missing his dad and wanted to help him.
Rocco was upset that Charlotte was always taking Danny’s side and left the pool area, too.
As the show closed, the camera panned to Danny walking up to the Q boathouse, only to see Jason on the dock. The two shared a nice long embrace.
