Tonight’s CSI: Vegas episode begins underwater. A scuba diver is looking for treasure when he finds a barrel and more than what he bargained for, deadly remains at the bottom of Lake Mead. The diver, Jeremiah Beck is shocked at his discovery. The barrel is out of the water, Roby looks in the barrel and the remains are that of a child. The team takes everything out of the barrel, one piece at a time and a 1982 dollar bill is found, it is in a baggy.

At the station, Sanders shows up, Roby asked him to be on the vampire shift.

Dr. Hudson and Robyn are with the child’t skull when Dr. Heather Chumani arrives. She starts with the pelvic bones and says they are dealing with a female child. And she believes she was eight to ten years old. She thinks whatever happened to her face is the reason why she was in that barrel. Slowly but surely, she is able to map out the face, to figure out what the girl would have looked like. They have her face, they just need her name.

Roby’s ex husband shows up, she forgot a commitment that she made to her son Bryan. She tells him about the case and says he understands that work is important, but when things clear up, he can go with her and take Bryan to lunch to make it up to him.

Sanders and Beau are working on the barrel, they find a name on it Salt Mine company. Beau and Chavez head there, Chavez wants a roster of employees who worked there back when those type of barrels were in the company.

Hudson is going over the body, measuring, he discovers that a bullet hit her hand, went through her back and probably at close range.

The blue substance from the bottom of the barrel was a combination of aluminum, coloured reflective sheeting, adhesive sheeting and paint. Could be a million things.

There is a Sunday school patch on the shirt of the victim and has wore white patient shoes.

The team circulates photos of the victim to every Baptist church in Vegas that had a Sunday school back in the 80’s.

Mrs. Raquel Williams shows up to speak to Roby, she says the Jane Doe is Pheobe Wiliams and the dollar she had was to buy a book, Humpty Dumpty for her cousin. She was wearing white patent leather shoes for the lord on Sunday. She shows Roby a photo of her, it was her child.

Williams is upset that her daughter’s skin was so pale, she was African American and says they didn’t care about her then and they don’t care about her now. Roby says she cares and she will do everything in her power to find out who did this to her and put them away, she needs her. She needs to start with a DNA sample to prove that she is her mother. Williams leaves.

Sanders figures out there were two shots fired, one hit the barret on the side of Pheobe’s temple, the other went through her back. The forensic team goes to where Phoebe was shot at the bus stop and with lasers, Beau figures that the bullet would have hit the building across the street. They head over to the building, tear down a wall and find the bullet lodged in a beam. They find a bullet 41 years later, it is the one that was shot at Phoebe.

Robyn goes to Ms. Williams home and tells her she has some new information. She tells her they believe two shots were fired. She shows her a photo of her skull. Ms. Williams says Phoebe used to sell jewelry and handcrafts for the church. This kid with a gun wanted her money box, Ms. Williams gave him a piece of her mind. He shot Phoebe twice and she says, they will never find the second bullet, it hit Ms. Williams, Phoebe died trying to save her. Roby says she needs that bullet, they tell a tale that can lead them back to the person who did this. She goes ahead with the surgery and she makes Roby promise to get the person who did this.

Roby meets her ex at a restaurant, he tells her that he is leaving, leaving her to her own world. He thought he could unscramble scrambled eggs, but he can’t. She says it is not a good time, he says it never is.

Bryan shows up to see his mom at the hospital, Ms. Williams is out of surgery, they have the bullet, she tells Roby to go get them now.

Folsom is going over the forensics on the bullet, it is from a 45 ACP, standard issue military grade. A possible match is found, the gun that killed Phoebe was used in a liquor store robbery in 1961, it went unsolved. The prime suspect in this old case was Matthew Case, but maybe a family member. They pull up photos, 19 children and grandchildren. But one person is recognizable, Jeremiah Beck, Roby says the killer always returns to the scene of the crime.

Robyn goes to speak to Beck and finds weapons at this home. She tells him they are going dust every weapons for prints and her guess is that his are going to be all over the gun that shot Phoebe. They arrest him. Roby is thrilled, she goes to see Ms. Williams, but the bed is empty. She passed. Roby has her son paint the skeleton facial sample they made to make her skin look the correct color.

Roby helps lay to rest Ms. Williams and Phoebe, the team, her ex husband and her son show up.

THE END!
