General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will have his work cut out for him when it comes to getting custody of his younger sibling. Spencer has done multiple prison stints and isn’t the father of Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) baby, so he’ll be fighting an uphill battle with the judge.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) intends to fight for full custody as well, but things should start heading downhill for him soon.
If Nikolas ends up in prison, on the run or even presumed dead, then he obviously won’t be this child’s primary caregiver.
As for Esme, she won’t be convicted of the hook attacks and should get a slap on the wrist for the rest of the charges against her.
That means Esme will be Spencer’s main opponent in court down the road.
Esme has rights as the mother of this baby, so Spencer will have to prove she’s unfit and that he can offer a better home to his younger brother or sister.
Spencer is already working on that since he spoke to a real estate agent over the phone, but buying a house isn’t enough.
It’s clear that Spencer needs to paint the picture of a happy family – and to do that, he may need to include a loving mother substitute.
GH fans will recall how Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) married Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to stand the best chance against Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) in court.
Now Spencer could use a wife to help boost his own courtroom chances.
Of course, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is the logical option since Spencer adores her and would love to build a life together.
It’s just a matter of whether Trina could get on board with that plan, especially since it would involve raising Esme’s child.
However, we should point out that Trina is set to face some difficult blows in the coming weeks.
The truth about Trina’s paternity will likely blow up at Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) nuptials, so she’ll reel over her mother’s deception.
Since Portia hates the idea of Trina getting too close to Spencer, we may see Trina rebel and get as close to him as possible.
You can’t get much closer than marriage and raising a kid together!
Once Trina receives updates on Spencer’s fight and gets her life turned upside down by the paternity news, she might find a new sense of purpose as a fill-in mom.
Regardless, there’s no denying that it’d be a fun story twist for Trina and Spencer to get married, particularly with the intention of building a family with Esme’s baby.
Naturally, the judge might have some concerns since Trina was Esme’s former victim, but Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) is a master at spinning things and could find a way to make it work.
General Hospital spoilers say Spencer might stand a better chance of winning with Trina in his corner, so stay tuned!
