In tonight’s NCIS Hawaii episode, Commander Graham passed out during a space simulation. The NASA team was staying on Hawaii island in a sealable dome that was a part of a Mars simulation.

It was supposed to help them transition to the real thing when they get to Mars and the project would have worked if Commander Graham hadn’t been poisoned. It was unfortunate consequence of people living in confined close quarters. There was bound to be tension. Both in a good and bad way. There came to be someone who wanted Graham dead.

They went through with a plan. They killed him and they would have gotten away with it if NCIS hadn’t butted in. NCIS wanted to investigate the mysterious death of a Navy personnel.

They faced resistance from NASA as well as from Space Force. Space Force was the military branch that Former President Trump created because he thought space should be weaponized. Only its so new that its odd for people to see a genuine Space Force uniform in person. Kai kinda just stared it for a while until he was told to stop by Space Fore Commander Tannon McCarthy.

McCarthy refused them access to the simulation. She said nothing could ruin the future astronauts’ mission. The people in the dome couldn’t leave it. They couldn’t give access to Graham’s body.

They instead had to store him in a safe place as if they would if they were really on Mars. McCarthy said it would help them prepare for death if they face it in the field. But NCIS has someone who did apply to the Mars Space Program. It was Ernie. Ernie wanted to be an astronaut. He didn’t get in and he left it at that only now he was given a chance to fulfill some of his dreams.

Ernie was the only one that was allowed to go into the dome. He had to wear an astronaut suit just to make it to the dome. Once he got inside, he found out that there were some who didn’t want him there.

There was one person who thought he was risking the mission. They didn’t care that he was there to investigate a suspicious death. They all ruled Graham’s death as accidental. Graham was acting out of character right before he passed out. He had wanted to leave the simulation. The others stopped him and then he died.

There was no explanation for it. They weren’t looking for one and so Ernie performed an autopsy the first chance he got. Ernie wasn’t a medical doctor himself. He called up his Medical Examiner friend to talk him through the process. He also sent up a video call. Ernie was later on that video call with Tennant when he got knocked from behind. The video went dark and NCIS learned that someone has locked down the dome. There was no footage going in or out. They have no way of contacting people on the inside and so they were forced to deem it as a hostage situation.

They even had a suspect. They suspected Major Tom Mullen. Mullen was good friend with Graham. He was even staying at Graham’s place on the island and then something happened. He had to leave behind his tablet. His tablet has messages from people asking not to do something. They were all concerned for him. People inside the dome were also concerned for him. Mullen had snapped. He destroyed Ernie’s tablet. He also sealed Ernie along with the other astronauts into a locked room. They couldn’t get out.

They had to hope he would let them out. Mullen was the one that attacked Ernie. He also turned off the cameras and all he could talk about was safeguarding the mission. He had tried to get Graham thrown off the simulation. It didn’t work. It also didn’t help that Mullen was acting crazy. Mullen had breathed in the same fumes that Graham did. The same fumes that Paolo did. Paolo used to be a part of the mission until he went crazy. They tested him after he tried to kill himself and it was revealed that he had been poisoned by HVAC system in the simulation.

Its what poisoned Graham to death. Its what’s poisoning Mullen into homicidal tendencies. NCIS later breached the building with Space Force and they stopped Mullen from killing Ernie. They also noticed that a nuclear reactor was missing from the dome. It seems it was always someone’s plan to breach the dome in order to steal the nuclear reactor. Someone wanted to ruin a multimillion dollar experiment. They made sure the HVAC was poisoning people because they wanted to go in to steal a very pricey piece of tech.

Ernie figured out who did it. It was Aaron Patel. Patel was like Ernie in that he applied for the program. He was rejected and he didn’t take it as well as Ernie. He instead got angry at having to watch other people live out his dream. He hated his job as security. He used all the craziness to breach the building with his people. He stole the reactor. He was making his way off the island when NCIS caught up to him. They arrested him. He confessed to everything and now he’ll serve time for Graham’s murder.

And Ernie has finally gotten over his childhood dream of being an astronaut. He was given the chance to read his file and understand why they didn’t accept him, but he chose not to read it. He knows that his daddy issues were the only reason he went after the program to begin with.

THE END!
