The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 21, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will try to shut Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) out of his conversation with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) since they’re Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) parents – not Billy.
However, Chelsea will defend Billy’s role in Connor’s life since they’ve gotten close.
Adam will also disagree with Chelsea about letting Connor spend time with Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach) and go to school near her like he’s requesting.
Although Adam will think they can put Connor in a new school locally and get him in therapy, Chelsea will wonder if he’s focused on what Connor needs or what Adam wants.
When Connor finds Chelsea and Adam in a heated argument, he’ll yell at them to stop fighting over him.
Adam and Chelsea will assure Connor that they’re just trying to make a plan that’ll work out best for everyone.
After Connor admits he just did some research online, he’ll talk about a school near Anita for kids with anxiety and depression.
Chelsea and Adam will praise Connor for showing how serious he is about this and will agree to give it some real thought.
In the park on Monday’s Y&R episode, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will deliver some surprising news to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), who’ll learn that the interim police chief hasn’t been a good fit at the GCPD.
Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) recommended that Chance replace him instead, so Chance will give Sharon updates – though he’ll clarify that he hasn’t received the official offer yet.
Sharon will feel certain that it’s coming and will wonder how Chance feels about this potential new role.
Chance will weigh the pros and cons before asking if Sharon could see him as the new chief of police.
Sharon will admit that she can – and she’ll like the idea of Chance being in a little less danger.
That said, Sharon will feel like only Chance can make this decision, so he’ll agree and banter with her before they share a kiss.
Afterward, Sharon will return to the coffeehouse, where Chelsea will pull up the school Connor researched on her phone.
Sharon will admit it comes highly recommended and will think it’s good that Connor’s being clear about what he needs.
Back in the park, Connor will hang out with Billy for a while and acknowledge that it’ll be hard on Billy if he moves away with Chelsea.
Billy will assure Connor that he’ll come visit if that happens and be understanding about the situation.
Once Chelsea and Adam are on the same page, Connor will find out his mom’s already made arrangements to check out the school he mentioned.
If all goes well, Chelsea and Connor will live with Anita until they can get their own place nearby. Connor will be grateful that his parents are listening to him about leaving Genoa City and his struggles there.
Next, Chelsea will speak with Billy alone and confirm that she can work remotely for Marchetti.
Billy will mention that Connor wants him to come visit and will assure Chelsea that her son comes first.
After Chelsea thanks Billy for understanding, he’ll smile and admit he’s going to miss her. Chelsea will insist she’s going to miss Billy too and will give him a sweet kiss.
At the athletic club, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) will seem uneasy as she watches Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) kiss Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) goodbye and head to a work meeting.
That’ll give Heather a chance to speak to Daniel alone and admit she’s been avoiding him. Daniel will assure Heather that he’s not the same destructive person he was, so she’ll acknowledge that’s true.
Since Daniel has been doing so well, Heather will suggest she just didn’t want to blur lines or complicate anything.
Heather will mention sticking around since her firm’s shut down for a few weeks and school isn’t starting yet for Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).
Daniel will think the idea of Heather sticking around for a while is fantastic, so he’ll touch her hand as Lily returns and glares at them.
Lily will walk back over to grab her forgotten tablet and will admit her meeting just got canceled. Heather will be surprised when Lily asks if she’s got time to catch up over coffee.
Once Daniel arrives at Crimson Lights, Sharon will overhear him excitedly making plans with Lucy for all the fun things they’re going to do. Daniel will feel like it’ll be the best end of summer ever since Lucy’s going to remain in GC.
Back with Lily, she’ll quiz Heather about how she got Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) off the hook and will seem surprised that the judge bought Phyllis’ story.
Heather will defend Phyllis as someone who sincerely wants to change – and she’ll think it’ll be better for Daniel as well as Lucy if they can all heal.
Lily will confess that she’s more of a “wait and see” type of person and will seem wary about the changed woman Phyllis claims to be.
After Lily suggests she doesn’t want Daniel to get hurt again, Heather will make it clear that she doesn’t want that either.
Lily will find out about Heather staying in town for a while and will wonder if her new partner will be OK with that, so Heather will reply that it won’t be a problem.
At one point, Lily will bring up what a great girl Lucy is and how she’s been so interested in Lily’s young love story with Daniel.
Heather will claim she’s glad that they found each other again and will suggest that Daniel seems happy with Lily.
While Lily’s on a work call, Heather will seem pensive as she watches her and will let out a sigh.
