The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) future seems bleak. Although Elena has truly tried to make this relationship work, she just can’t trust Nate – and that could mean their romance won’t survive.
Of course, it doesn’t help that Nate has multiple women practically throwing themselves at him.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has agreed to respect Nate’s decision not to sleep with her, but she’s made it clear that she wants him in her bed.
Likewise, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) is scheming in hopes of scoring her own sizzling chance with Nate, so Elena may not be able to compete.
Regardless, Elena shouldn’t have to compete anyway, especially if Nate ends up sleeping with Victoria or Audra after all.
Nate likes to talk about the commitment he made to Elena, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be able to honor it in the end.
If Elena does get cheated on, we can think of someone she could bond with. Elena and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) might connect over the betrayals they’ve faced since Abby Newman-Abbott’s (Melissa Ordway) cheating led to the destruction of her marriage.
It’d be easy for Elena and Chance to relate to each other’s heartbreak and the fact that their romances were perhaps doomed from the start.
Although Y&R has been trying to get something going between Chance and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), they’re taking their sweet time about it.
Sharon and Chance don’t exactly have mind-blowing chemistry, so it wouldn’t be any great loss if the show shifted gears.
It’s certainly not too late to send Chance in a different romantic direction, so maybe he could be paired up with Elena at some point.
Sharon could always reunite with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and leave the door open for Chance to find love with Elena instead.
Elena and Chance at least deserve an opportunity to see if sparks could really fly!
