In tonight’s Blue Bloods episode, Detective Danny Reagan was brought on a missing child’s case. The missing child was a four year old girl. Her name is Ava Dominguez. She was the daughter of Freddie and Christina Dominguez. Her mom usually gets a sitter whenever she has to run out, but she couldn’t find one this time and so she left her daughter home alone.

She was just across the street. She was doing laundry. She was gone for fifteen minutes at the most. She returned home to find her apartment door opening. There’s no sign of her daughter. Her neighbors haven’t seen her daughter. And there’s no telling where the little girl was.

Danny worked the case with his partner, Baez. The first thing they asked was if it was a usual occurrence for them to leave the little girl by herself. Christina swears this was the first time.

Then the detectives asked where the husband was during this time. He said he was in Queens working. He rushed back home when his wife called him to say their daughter was missing. Christina didn’t understand why the cops were asking her questions when her daughter could be out there alone. She begged them to look for her little girl and they promised they would.

Danny was looking for any kind of lead he could use when across town his father was in trouble. Commissioner Frank Reagan met with a woman who claims that NYPD stole her car. Normally, cases like that don’t go up to Frank. It only did this time as a favor Garrett. Gerri lives in Garrett’s neighborhood.

She was important to him. Its why he asked Frank to speak to her. Gerri’s car was stolen by NYPD. She was a food delivery driver when she’s not an uber. She had a career that ended during the pandemic when her company downsized. Now Gerri uses her car to make a living.

Gerri parked it in front a restaurant to go grab a food order. She returned to find her car gone. She reported it missing to the cops and they later tracked down the car as well as the person who stole it. It turns out a drug dealer stole it.

He stashed drugs in the car. Now both the drugs and the stolen car are being held as evidence against the drug dealer. Gerri doesn’t get her car back until the case has been resolved. Which could mean months. Frank tried to tell Gerri he was sorry about that and she said that sorry doesn’t pay the bills. She needs her car back.

Garrett pointed out that Frank could talk with the detectives on the case. Frank was considering it when Danny’s case took a turn. They found Ava’s remains. She was dressed in white and practically drowned in alcohol as well as perfume. She was surrounded by little candles. It seemed like a ceremony.

It reminded Baez of voodoo. Baez saw the way the Dominguezs’ home was arranged. There was an altar to voodoo. Baez’s old partner was an expert on the stuff. He agreed to go with Baez and Danny to get information on a voodoo shop in the little girl’s neighborhood.

Ava’s parents were frequent visitors. They also lied about Ava. They said she wasn’t the sweetest girl when she wasn’t. She was possibly special needs and no one would babysitter after she bit the last sitter so hard she broke skin. The babysitter had to get a tetanus shot after that.

Plus, the parents were always fighting. They were fighting about Ava. Christina was often yelling at Ava because she couldn’t even control her. She’s the one that was stuck with the little girl all day long and so the cops came to believe she tried to fix her daughter with a ceremony that went wrong.

The cops brought in Christina for questioning. She finally confessed that life with Ava wasn’t easy. Her family didn’t want to be around a fussy baby. Christina started fighting with her husband after she looked up special needs schools for Ava. Freddie had wanted to put their faith in God.

He was supposed to be making deliveries around that time and his phone records showed he never left Washington Heights. He could have killed their little girl by accident during a cleansing ceremony. He was hoping God would cure her autism.

Frank meanwhile learned that ADA was the one refusing to return Gerri’s car. The ADA was Erin. Frank spoke to Erin about Gerri’s case and it got her thinking. She thought maybe she wasn’t lenient as she should be. She got called out by a high schooler the other day.

The high schooler reminded Erin that she’s the one that locked up her brother for drugs and it was his first offence. The laws have changed since then. Nowadays, the brother would have been put in a drug treatment program and released by now. Instead he’s locked up. And his sister was in foster care.

Erin now questions if she’s too strict. She was having a moment of self-condemnation. She was considering what to do in both cases when Danny caught up to Freddie. Freddie tried to kill a voodoo priest that was supposed to heal his daughter. Not kill her. Freddie was going to kill the priest out of revenge and the cops stopped him. They arrested him.

They also arrested the priest. They were both responsible for Ava’s death. And Eddie helped unravel bias practices at an elite school in the city.

The school was prejudiced against cops. They wouldn’t admit any kids of cops. They even did it to Captain McNichols. Now, the rejected cops were banding together.

They were going to make a complaint to the Schoolboard. Frank also got Gerri her car back. Erin realized she could be a little much. She reunited Akeela with her brother behind bars. She also offered him a deal that would grant him early release. And so Akeela will get to live with family again.

Garrett was later invited to Sunday dinner where he helped Sean prepare for public speaking.

THE END!
