General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Ava Jerome (Maura West) is starting to realize just how fickle Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) can be. Ava blew up her friendship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) so she could pull Sonny closer, but it’s feeling pretty pointless now that he’s being so dismissive.
Sonny liked the ego boosts that Ava gave him and appreciated having someone to vent to, but that changed once Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) became his new flavor of the month.
Now Sonny’s all about flirting with Natalia and keeps finding ways to insult Ava.
It seems like Sonny is reverting to how he treated Ava before this storyline made her his confidant.
Sonny is back to just tolerating Ava for Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) sake, so there’s no reason for Ava to keep making a fool of herself.
This could mark a turning point in the story where the real Ava Jerome comes out to play!
Ava needs to wise up and take her own power back instead of cozying up to Sonny to get a false sense of that power.
With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see what happens when Ava inevitably figures out Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is responsible for tampering with Sonny’s meds.
The ship has sailed on Ava being any kind of hero anyway since she chose to keep quiet when she confirmed Sonny was getting a lower dosage.
That’s not the angle GH writers are going to work here.
Instead, Ava may think about how Sonny’s been snubbing her lately and tell Valentin that she wants in on the plan.
Valentin and Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) could gain an ally if Ava joins their plot to put Sonny in prison.
GH fans will recall that Brennan and Valentin talked about eliminating Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and pinning it on Sonny.
Assuming that scheme moves forward, Ava could become a key player in the frame-up.
Of course, Jason isn’t going to truly face a grim fate, but Sonny could still land in hot water if it looks like attempted to take him out.
Whatever the case, nothing matters more to Ava than preserving her role in her daughter’s life.
Sonny never officially changed the custody agreement and is still holding all the cards when it comes to Avery.
Will that be enough for Ava to flip the switch and join Valentin’s team? Will Ava plot to put Sonny behind bars and keep Avery all to herself?
