General Hospital (GH) spoilers state that the relationship between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) has changed dramatically over the past few years.
They went from mortal enemies to cohesive co-parents to – dare it be said – friends!
Still, with his baby momma moving into the penthouse recently, and him and his “wife” Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) on the outs, could these two be gravitating toward a romantic reunion?
But would it be a “reunion”? After all, fans who know Ava and Sonny’s history know that the two were never really a thing.
They shared a one-night stand that resulted in the birth of Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), and the two never really got along over the years.
In fact, recent months have seen them as the closest they have ever been in their lives. Could this parenting and friendship lead to more?
Sonny and Ava do have a certain chemistry between them. Despite hating her for years, Sonny has grown rather protective of Ava lately.
While he’s noted this is about his daughter and her best interests, he’s gone to great lengths to keep his baby momma safe.
The added layer to a possible Sonny and Ava romance is the fact that Ava is Nina’s best friend, and there would be a huge feeling of betrayal if she hooked up with the mob boss.
Especially since in many ways, Nina was the one who helped bridge the gap between them to become far friendlier than they have ever been.
General Hospital spoilers hint the mystery shooter storyline isn’t going anywhere, which means that Ava will continue to reside at Sonny’s giving the two more opportunities to bond.
Could they end up allowing their emotions to get the better of them one night?
After all, Ava is single, and in Sonny’s mind, things are “over” between him and Nina.
If Sonny and Ava were to hook up, Avery would likely be on cloud nine! They’d also be a power couple to be reckoned with in the land of Port Charles.
